Ladyseed 25M Rifle Clinic
Join us for Ladyseed™
We created Ladyseed to encourage more women to enjoy the excitement of rifle marksmanship. Ladyseed is a fun and empowering 25M rifle clinic designed specifically for women and girls of all experience levels. It offers the opportunity for women to shoot, share, and get to know each other in a supportive learning environment.
Whether you’re a seasoned shooter or a complete newbie, Ladyseed rifle clinics are designed for you. Within this enjoyable and encouraging environment, you will receive personalized instruction on firearm safety, proper shooting techniques, and aiming accuracy from our highly-trained instructors. As you engage with other like-minded women, you’ll build confidence, develop new skills, and forge lifelong friendships. The new found confidence and self-esteem gained through the clinic empowers women to take on new challenges, pursue their passions, and embrace their true potential. Through marksmanship training, women are not only learning to shoot a rifle, but also learning to shoot for the stars.
Of course, the women who attend a Ladyseed event will learn much more than how to fire a rifle. They will also learn American history and how women actively aided in the fight for America’s freedom. Hear the stories of these brave women and girls who participated as spies, provided healthcare, prepared their men for war, and protected their homes. When you attend a Ladyseed, it’s our hope that you’ll leave with new friends, a renewed sense of country, and an enhanced sense of civic responsibility.

Ready your equipment
- A rifleman needs to be prepared to shoot in any conditions, such as blowing sand and dust, rain, and mud. In event of blowing sand and dust, you’ll need to degrease your rifle. Any lube should be a dry lube, like graphite. Be ready to protect your rifle with a plastic rifle bag or a simple waterproof wrap for the action.
- Protect ammo and mags from the same weather. Ziplock bags are great for this.
- Function-test your rifle and, if possible, have it zeroed for 25 meters.
- Practice by getting down into the prone position and dry-firing ten shots “by the numbers.”
- It is suggested to put a GI web sling on your rifle, and get it adjusted so it supports the rifle in prone.
- Practicing at home is a GREAT way to prep for arriving at the range to make your range time FAR more productive.
Special Equipment Considerations:
- Due to a firearms safety bulletin, .17HMR semi-automatic rifles are not recommended.
- We are pleased to announce that Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 firearms may be used at Project Appleseed clinics. However, owners must comply with the Smith & Wesson Safety Alert. We will make every effort to have a S&W Bolt Inspection Gauge on-hand for owners to check their bolts for compliance. You are encouraged to check the following links to the Smith & Wesson websites for information about the issues and how to check the M&P 15-22 bolt to determine that it is within specification:
https://www.smith-wesson.com/mp15-22-consumer-safety-alert - An additional Liability Waiver will also need to be signed by any student at a Project Appleseed clinic who chooses to use a semi-automatic .17HMR rifle or a Smith & Wesson M&P 15-22 firearm.

At many locations, loaner firearms may be available. To request loaner equipment, send an email with your name and event date/city/state to loaners@appleseedinfo.org. Do not wait until the last minute to ask. Loaners are limited and provided on a first come/first served basis. You will be required to provide your own ammunition.
