Comment: In rehearsing the three strikes and in reading Fishers "Paul Revere's Ride", one comes across the impromptu democratic councils the militia convened in their response to the events of 19 April (e.g. Concord Militia). This may be traced to the effect of the Congregational assemblies and means of local decision-making stemming from Calvin's doctrines in ecclesiastical and community governance. No less important was his requirement for magistrates to exercise righteous governance, else releasing the people from any obligation of obedience to tyrants. Further, his precepts may be reflected in the articles of our founding documents as the article strive to demonstrate.
