Your attendance is Needed to Support Commissioner Richards

Tomorrow, the California Fish and Game Commission will be meeting in Riverside. Come voice your support for Commissioner Dan Richards.  Let the Fish and Game Commission know that Commissioner Richards did nothing wrong and that removing him would be unjust.  This meeting will take place at 8:30 am in the San Diego Room at the Mission Inn Hotel and Spa, located at 3649 Mission Inn Avenue in Riverside.

Also, the state Senate and Assembly could act on this issue any day this week.  It is important that you call AND e-mail your state Senator and Assembly Member TODAY and strongly urge them to OPPOSE any effort to remove Commissioner Dan Richards.  If animal "rights" extremists are allowed to succeed, it will have long-term negative consequences for all of California's hunters and wildlife.  Contact information for your state Senator and Assembly Member can be found below.

The extremist organizations such as HSUS started the controversy associated with President Richards engaging in a legal hunt because they saw it as an opportunity to rid the Commission of a life-long hunter who opposes their agenda to ultimately ban all hunting in California and, eventually, America.  It was HSUS CEO Wayne Pacelle who said, "We are going to use the ballot box and the democratic process to stop all hunting in the United States ... We will take it species by species until all hunting is stopped in California. Then we will take it state by state."

The state Senators and Assembly Members demanding Richards' removal dream of a Commission that is dominated by non-hunters who share the radical philosophy of HSUS and PETA.  The truth is that hunters are needed on the Commission in order to benefit conservation and wildlife management.  They are the ones who truly understand the wildly successful North American Wildlife Conservation Model and the fact that hunters pay the way for conservation in California and throughout the country.  In fact, most fish and game departments across the country get the lion's share of their funding from sportsmen.

"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."
- Benjamin Franklin (Notes for a proposition at the Pennsylvania Assembly, 1775)

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude than the animated contest of freedom — go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains sit lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen!"
- Samuel Adams (Speech, State House of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, August 1, 1776)
