Can I get a show of hands from NE IITs to see who would be interested in attending an Instructor Boot Camp if we were to set one up in Nebraska this summer?

Greg's right.  Come on up to spend the weekend with us.  If you run with Greg, I'm sure you're our kind of crazy!   %)  We're in the process of getting the Eventbrite registration page setup, so be patient.  I'll post the reg link in this thread once it's up.  But in the meantime, here are the where/when details to hold you over:

Okay my little fusileros...  &)  I'm not happy about this, but the IBC is going to have to be rescheduled.  There are several people who originally committed to the dates, but have had schedule conflicts come up for this weekend.  We only have 3 IITs signed up, which is less than the minimum requirement of 4 and much less than what I had hoped to have with all of the NE IITs.  I apologize to those who put their time into pulling this together and the Senior Instructors who blocked out their weekend and planned on road tripping up from MO.  The good news is that we can postpone our weekend of fun, learning, and camaraderie to another Sat/Sun in the future.

So, that means: back to square one again.  After I have some conversations regarding weekends when facilities are available, I'll post the potential dates in this thread.  Then, hopefully, we can nail down a weekend that works for everyone so Greg, Gromit, and Ben can get the most bang for their road trip buck.

Stay tuned, sports fans.

Greg in MO

So let's get this IBC rescheduled boys and girls...  My schedule is kinda full these days, so prior planning is a must.

Greg

COMPUDOC

Was wondering what the activities at an IBC are?  Lot of range time or more classroom?  The reason I am asking is because I have my kids 2 weekends a month, and if it is a lot of range time I am not able to give the range the attention it deserves and my kids the attention they deserve as well. Kids are 9 & 8 and have only been shooting a single shot .22 w/o my direct supervision for 2 range sessions (no semi-auto).

Greg in MO

Depending on the location, an IBC is very little to no range time.  It is all classroom usually.  If we have a KD range we may shoot simply to demonstrate how to teach KD.  Plus it's just fun.  The IBC is designed to teach you how to be an instructor.  You are already supposed to know how to shoot.

Greg

Fred

Personally and totally unofficially, t'were it me, I'd go with the 3 you have signed up and hope for one or two walkons. You're gonna find there's always a couple of guys who "have a sudden change in plans and can't make it".

We recently canceled - not rescheduled - and IBC here in NC and two people who didn't get the message showed up - and we lost both of 'em as instructors.

     "Cancel" is never good.

Plus this thing will drag on forever - months, at least, a year is easily possible - until everyone has agreed on a common weekend.

By that time, the program will have doubled again, and we'll have lost a valuable half-year or whatever of teaching by our sooner-or-later-IBC-trained instructors.

     $.02, only...

Id say Fred hit the nail on the head. I know I was part of the bunch who had to back out. But we do need to reschedule this as soon as possible. October Is a busy month. Lincoln has a shoot in November. This leaves December or the beginning of the year. Speak up! We will have space available in Hastings Jan, Feb, or March. Or whats happening in Lincoln?

Sharps74

My vote is for January, since most people tend to get pretty busy in November and December.  How about the weekend of the 29th?

My schedule looks good for an IBC in Lincoln the weekend of Jan 29/30.  Let's get a roll call on it.  Let's get some solid commitments so we can get this on the schedule, get a big crew registered, and make it happen this time!  Who else is good with that weekend???

Gibbs, is there a way to tell who already signed up and paid for the previous try so we can sign them up again?  I know I already did and I'm sure there are others.

It'll probably be the April Broken Bow one. Since it's the day after my B-day, my wife's less likely to whine about me being gone playing. :cool2:
