Can I get a show of hands from NE IITs to see who would be interested in attending an Instructor Boot Camp if we were to set one up in Nebraska this summer?

I am just making sure I have the details correct!! Nebraska IBC, Sept 18th and 19th.
Greg in MO says to go! soo.......
Got the when, the why, but where's the where??? And how do I formalized that I am coming; e.i. Registration??
details, details, details........... ++)
Greg's right. Come on up to spend the weekend with us. If you run with Greg, I'm sure you're our kind of crazy! %) We're in the process of getting the Eventbrite registration page setup, so be patient. I'll post the reg link in this thread once it's up. But in the meantime, here are the where/when details to hold you over:

Okay my little fusileros... &) I'm not happy about this, but the IBC is going to have to be rescheduled. There are several people who originally committed to the dates, but have had schedule conflicts come up for this weekend. We only have 3 IITs signed up, which is less than the minimum requirement of 4 and much less than what I had hoped to have with all of the NE IITs. I apologize to those who put their time into pulling this together and the Senior Instructors who blocked out their weekend and planned on road tripping up from MO. The good news is that we can postpone our weekend of fun, learning, and camaraderie to another Sat/Sun in the future.
So, that means: back to square one again. After I have some conversations regarding weekends when facilities are available, I'll post the potential dates in this thread. Then, hopefully, we can nail down a weekend that works for everyone so Greg, Gromit, and Ben can get the most bang for their road trip buck.
Stay tuned, sports fans.
So let's get this IBC rescheduled boys and girls... My schedule is kinda full these days, so prior planning is a must.
Greg
Was wondering what the activities at an IBC are? Lot of range time or more classroom? The reason I am asking is because I have my kids 2 weekends a month, and if it is a lot of range time I am not able to give the range the attention it deserves and my kids the attention they deserve as well. Kids are 9 & 8 and have only been shooting a single shot .22 w/o my direct supervision for 2 range sessions (no semi-auto).
Depending on the location, an IBC is very little to no range time. It is all classroom usually. If we have a KD range we may shoot simply to demonstrate how to teach KD. Plus it's just fun. The IBC is designed to teach you how to be an instructor. You are already supposed to know how to shoot.
Greg
Personally and totally unofficially, t'were it me, I'd go with the 3 you have signed up and hope for one or two walkons. You're gonna find there's always a couple of guys who "have a sudden change in plans and can't make it".
We recently canceled - not rescheduled - and IBC here in NC and two people who didn't get the message showed up - and we lost both of 'em as instructors.
"Cancel" is never good.
Plus this thing will drag on forever - months, at least, a year is easily possible - until everyone has agreed on a common weekend.
By that time, the program will have doubled again, and we'll have lost a valuable half-year or whatever of teaching by our sooner-or-later-IBC-trained instructors.
$.02, only...
Id say Fred hit the nail on the head. I know I was part of the bunch who had to back out. But we do need to reschedule this as soon as possible. October Is a busy month. Lincoln has a shoot in November. This leaves December or the beginning of the year. Speak up! We will have space available in Hastings Jan, Feb, or March. Or whats happening in Lincoln?
My vote is for January, since most people tend to get pretty busy in November and December. How about the weekend of the 29th?
My schedule looks good for an IBC in Lincoln the weekend of Jan 29/30. Let's get a roll call on it. Let's get some solid commitments so we can get this on the schedule, get a big crew registered, and make it happen this time! Who else is good with that weekend???
Get it booked, and I'm in. If anyone needs a ride down from the western end let me know.
Let me know when it is locked in, cuz I am still interested!!
I'm in, so that's three.
Okay then. Let's make this happen. Sharps can you get us on the schedule at Ikes? Gibbs is going to get this on the Appleseed schedule so we can get a registration link open and get solid commitments from everyone. Let's make this happen! O0
It looks good now. If my schedule don't change after the first of the year.
Larry
Great!
Get after the other 2 up there. ~~:) A swift kick in the rear if needed! We have darn near 3 months before this IBC. If everyone puts it on their schedule now. Its not too likely they will miss it! ::) Plenty of advanced notice!
Did some house cleaning. Thred was getting kinda long.
An IBC EIP is up. Needs corrected still but we are on the schedule.

Anyone who has been offered and/or accepted an orange hat can attend an IBC. There is a $70 fee for the first IBC you attend. Attendees must complete the IBC and then work a shoot. The IBC Instructor and the following shoot Instructor will decide their IIT level based upon performance and skills demonstrated. See http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=10615 for official IBC information & policy. Bring a current Final Instructor Manual, paper, and pen/pencil.
For More Information Contact: Private Message to "gibbs459" on the Appleseed forum. Or email Matt at gibbs459@msn.com or Brian at bkoenig1975@hotmail.com
Clubhouse is reserved, we should be good to go.
My father and I will definitely be there. My brother and sister to if they can be IIT3s by then. &)
Gibbs, is there a way to tell who already signed up and paid for the previous try so we can sign them up again? I know I already did and I'm sure there are others.
Sharps,
You and ZH were the only preregs on the previous shoot... That's why we rescheduled.
Greg
How soon can we get this IBC on Eventbrite so people can register and make a solid commitment?
I have sent the EIP info to Savageshooter. I hope to see it anytime. I was told the 2011 stuff is not set up yet.
EIP is up. Eventbrite link is all set. OK everyone lets get registered for this IBC! We all need to make this one.
January 29-30 Lincoln NE
Here is your link!

Soon as I get that patch I'll start thinking about doing an IBC
Cool! A future IIT! Hey Pitspitr get off your puter and get to the range! Get polished up for the next Seed! Hastings February 19-20. You get that patch and I'll have that orange hat ready for you! O0
It'll probably be the April Broken Bow one. Since it's the day after my B-day, my wife's less likely to whine about me being gone playing. :cool2:
Forgot to mention; Fred will be at the AIBC in Eureka Kansas, Dec
go to:

I am signed up. ;D
January in Nebraska! Boy Howdy! :o
I might have to break out that long underwear!
Just checking on the dates for this. Instructor Scheduling has it listed as the 15-16th. We're still on for the 29th, right?
Greg
Uh ohhh............
Guys, if it is the 15-16th I am out, as we have a shoot that weekend!!! :'( Please confirm the date!!
IBC EIP says Jan 29-30. We are still on.
http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=17710.0
We have an Appleseed on the 15-16th of Jan. Same place.
Must have been some confusion with Event scheduling.
Roger that.
G
So we are a couple weeks out from the IBC. Who's actually coming and signed up? Last time we had to reschedule because only 2 people were going to show, surely we won't face that again.
For those of you planning to attend, I hope you have read your instructor manual and Paul Revere's Ride. Come prepared, as we will be asking you to demonstrate the course of instruction. We will also talk about how to tell the Story, so it will help if you are familiar with it. Oh, and bring your centerfires. We will be discussing KD and how to teach it, so we might as well do some shooting, right?
Also, are we doing anything about food? Potluck? Ordering pizza? I'll be bringing cookies of course.
Let's start talking this thing up! Gromit and I will be there. Will we be talking to ourselves? Where will you be?
Greg
I'll be there.
I am coming!
I was at the Ikes today getting set up for our Winterseed next weekend and we were talking about the IBC we'll be hosting. I confirmed that we'll have the range available for some KD shooting on Sunday if we have the time.
Awesome! Sharps you considering bringing your grill to this one so we cook onsite? I'll come over to help you load it if you are...
So we have 3 coming. Two of which are already RHs. Where is the rest of Nebraska?
Greg

Greg
Pre-reg thread shows 5 signed up, and I'm not one of them. So I would be number 6; which is a good start, but I think we can do better!
Gibbs - can you work on the BB guys?
Greg - Who's coming up with you to run it? Let me know if you guys need a place to crash. I can make bacon tots (http://snarkybytes.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/04/BaconTot_Done.jpg) for breakfast. ;)
Bacon tots? I want to crash at your house too!
I can bring my grill. It's a heavy SOB.
I'll be accompanying Greg for the MO contingent.
MOGromit
I will also be there.
Last I knew, Bixby was registered and was planning the trip. Have not been able to raise him for a while.
Doesn't sound like the Broken Bow Crew will be able to make it. Work schedules are conflicting. I'll see if I can get Pitspitr on the horn. He is gunning for IIT next April. This will be good for him too.
I'll be in the Link area that weekend anyway, but I have a commitments Saturday morning and early afternoon. Would a person be able to jump in on the second day? I'm probably going to have to go through it a second time anyway since I don't have the patch yet.
Ultimately, it's up to Greg and Gromit about only attending Sunday, but since you'll be all the way down in Lincoln anyway and you're a future member of the NE Instructor Corps, I don't see a problem with you dropping in on Sunday, Pitspitr. Keep persisting and you'll get that patch this year!
Greg/Gromit - What say you guys?
If you come, bring warm clothes because we're going to try and get out to the 300 yd range for some work on teaching come ups.
Hi Guys! I had tried to post earlier, but there was a SNAFU
Has there been a decision on how meals are going to be handled? I need to know since I am coming up from Kansas. Also can you locals make a hotel recommendation??
I think Sharps is bringing a grill, so if you're a carnivore, bring some meat. ;D
There are a couple hotels down the road from the range. I've stayed in the AmericInn (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=10714136279924137576&q=hotel&gl=us&hl=en&cd=2&cad=src:ppiwlink&ei=ptE1TbzUAZP6Ne7K4dkK&dtab=2) and the Holiday Inn (http://maps.google.com/maps/place?cid=9222111921819699386&q=hotel&gl=us&hl=en&cd=1&cad=src:ppiwlink&ei=ptE1TbzUAZP6Ne7K4dkK&dtab=2) is next door, so consider checking rates at both.
I don't have a big problem with anyone just coming on Sunday, but if you are an IIT you probably won't be advancing any levels if you only attend Sunday.
So is that everyone that's coming? Gibbs/ZH, you better get your IITs to this IBC if you have to drag them out. You won't be getting another one anytime soon... ~~:)
Of course, if there aren't many people, we'll blow through the required stuff and get to do more of the fun stuff... :---
Greg
So, how many are we looking at total? If it's under a dozen or so I'll bring burgers for everyone on Saturday courtesy of Koenig Farms Inc. if someone wants to bring buns and the rest of the fixin's. I like you guys, but not enough to donate my steak ;D
I'll bring buns and the rest of the burger fixins. Sounds good! Someone else want to bring drinks or other stuff? Potluck style. ;)
Something tells me I'm bringing cookies... ;)
Greg
How late is too late to Register? I won't know if I can make it until after Wednesday. And I realize I can't make IIT I just figured I'd get a leg up on it.
Pitspitr - You can pre-reg upto Thurs, I believe. But if you don't get pre-regged, just show up and we can take care of registration at the clubhouse.
I'll bring a couple cases of soda. I'll grab one of Pepsi; any other requests? A sugarfree one? Mountain Dew for caffeine to keep the Orange Hats awake while the Red Hats drone on? First response gets to call the second case. ;D
Diet coke would be greatly appreciated by the MO contingent.

How about a case of Monster? :D
Just kidding...that's stuff's expensive.
How about Iced Tea or something like that for us non-soda drinkers.
It's starting to look as though I'm going to end up having to work next weekend instead of going to the track meet as I had planned. If I end up working it's probably going to preclude a trip to Lincoln. If not, I'm going to be there. Won't know for sure for a few more days.

Right now, it doesn't look like I'm going to be able to make it. If I end up being able to come the above option is what I'll have to do.
Starting times on sunday are what, precisely??
Ok biker... How long have you been an instructor now? What time does Appleseed start?
In case you can't remember, it's 08:30. See you Sunday!
G
Yes, Greg that's the "official" Time! ;D
The reason I ask is, if I had shown up at 8:30 at the AIBC, i would have missed a good deal of Fred!! :))
By the way, High Temp for today in southern Kansas is predicted to be 68! Tommorrow is 53!! The predicted high for Sunday in Lincoln?? 20 degrees. :o
Do I get brownie points for just showing up?? ;)
Good Thing I am an old Nebraska boy! I learned a thing or two about working and shooting outside in 20 degree weather growing up!! ++)
See you guys Sunday AM! :)
