Recommend Jeff Shaara's "Rise to Rebellion".

It is an historical novel. I found it to be an entertaining way to read the story of the beginning of the Revolution and Revolutionary War. It will certainly give the instructor depth in the subject and presents facts that I have not found elsewhere. The book begins in March of 1760 and extends through the reading of the Declaration of Independence to the Continental Army in July 1776.  A sequel, "The Glorious Cause" is also worthwhile. You may find both on Amazon.

I read many Jeff Shaara books. Always found them to be very enjoyable.
