My oldest daughter works for the USPS and she gifted me a booklet about the design process for the "Battlefields of the American Revolution" stamp series issued this year.  I've only flipped through it so far, but it has the progression of the sketches on velum, their sources, and artist's commentary.  It also has proofs of early design versions and a pane of the issued stamps.  Pretty cool.
