Our last pistol clinic of the year in North Idaho was very successful! As we are still getting established at the Shoshone County Public Range, Our attendance was lower than we'd have liked but the six participants who did come made it all worthwhile.  The weather was perfect, and everything went smoothly with all shooters showing improvement through the weekend.

Congratulations to new Pistoleerâ„¢s Randy, Travis, and Joseph, as well as to Brian, who requalified several times over.

Thanks also to Snow Snake and Mr. Clean for instructing, coaching and helping the weekend move along efficiently.

We look forward to seeing the participants again at future Appleseeds, and to having them bring along friends and family members to join us!

"The great object is that every man be armed." - Patrick Henry

"The great body of our citizens shoot less as time goes on.  We should encourage rifle practice among schoolboys, and indeed among all classes, as well as in the military services by every means in our power. Thus, and not otherwise, may we be able to assist in preserving peace in the world...The first step - in the direction of preparation to avert war if possible, and to be fit for war if it should come - is to teach men to shoot!"       - President Theodore Roosevelt's last message to Congress

Mr. Clean

To all the participants, I want to remind you what we taught last weekend. You will have the skills you learned, but they will get "rusty" without periodic practice. Remember what you were taught about "dry practice" that can be done at home without any expense of ammunition. For safety, don't have ANY ammo even in the same room with you. Start with being conscious and intentional that you are starting dry practice. Keep it brief (more short duration sessions are more effective than fewer long ones), and regular (once/week, twice/week?). When done, consciously tell yourself dry practice is done, so don't do any "just one more time". You can refine your trigger control, smooth mag changes, malfunction drills, NPOA, stance and grip. Your next trip to the range will show the benefit of your regular dry practice. Persist!
