17 aspiring riflemen braved the August heat to hone their craft and learn of our country's history. The Saturday afternoon Hits Count target scores compared to those from the morning showed great improvement. We also had 4 youth shooters with parents, some with some experience with rifles, others came open to learning. Their persistence paid off as early frustration gave way to visible improvement.

One new rifleman was minted along with five requals, one of which shot a Distinguished score Congratulations Abby, Tom, Dane, Walt, Ben G. and Cisco! Also, congratulations to ARGunner for earning his red hat, becoming a full instructor. Thank you for these last few years helping on the line. I'm looking forward to many more. After trading in his orange hat for the red, he invited everyone to join him in the tradition of shooting the orange hat full of holes. Camaraderie like that just can't be beat.

This next one on Sept. 13-14 has been sold out for months, so registering early is necessary if you are going to get in. I hope we all meet again at a future Appleseed rifle clinic.
