Wow what a great day.  This was a private shoot for the Trail Life kids in Leesburg Fl. 23 Men, both young and a little older, showed up for a day of History and Marksmanship. 

Our day started early at 8 am with check in and getting settled. Once all the paperwork was finished, we jumped right into the first strike Then into how to use the rifles. We had 20 loaner rifles out on the line so took us a little while to get everybody familiar with their equipment.  That said step by step the kids picked up on what we were trying to show them. 
With only 18 rounds shot by lunch we had some work to do but the kids stuck with us and kept soaking up knowledge.

By the end of the day the kids were getting tired, but they kept pushing. We finished one AQT and the red coat to end our day. The scores showed, these folks knew very well what they were about. Over half of the shooters scored over 120 on the AQT and most doubled their morning red coat maximum range.

Great work by everyone at the event. I want to truly thank the troop for coming out and spending the day with us as well as thank Ares Training range for letting us use their facility. 

We hope to see you all again in the future.
