Just wrapped up another excellent event at Vienna Fish & Game Club.  A very teachable and enthusiastic group of students combined with an experienced instructor crew to produce some spectacular results.  Many Thanks to Vienna Fish & Game for once again welcoming and graciously hosting a Project Appleseed event.

The students endured through two hot, muggy August days of instruction in Rifle Marksmanship and American History as the instructors endeavored to put them in touch with their Heritage.  By the end of the day on Saturday, after most of the instruction had been presented, Jeff and Sheri had made all 13 shots count on their Redcoat targets, and Kasey and David had earned Rifleman patches on the first AQT of the weekend.  Thank you, Carl for accepting a blue hat in recognition of becoming an Appleseed volunteer!

Sunday started out cool but heated up quickly, both in temperature and on the firing line.  Jeff and David turned in Rifleman scores on their first AQT of the day, and they continued throughout the day.  They were soon joined on the Rifleman patch parade by Kasey, Sheri and Aliquippa.  High scores for the day included Jeff with a 240 (and a Distinguished rocker), Kasey with a 236, David with a 228, Sheri with a 215 and Aliquippa with a 214.  April and Mackenzie shot high in the Sharpshooter range, but couldn't quite get to Rifleman.  Don't despair, ladies, you can do it!

Finally, thanks to MsMtnEagle and the volunteers from Vienna Fish & Game Club who always go out of their way to make us welcome and make this a delightful event for both instructors and students.

What a great club that is a super friend of Project Appleseed. So nice to see old friends and make new ones here at Vienna once again. Thank you to all that attended and volunteered at this event.
It was warm and muggy and we were all thank full for the sun to move to the west and for the firing line to be finally in the shade. A great instructor crew both days along with a group of dedicated Americans that showed that they knew well well what they are about made this a great event.
Awesome scores were collected on the AQT's and redcoat's by all of the attendees of this event. One lady was using a brand new 10-22 (to her ownership) that failed and ended up using a loaner rifle. Wow she CLEARED a red coat Saturday afternoon. Awesome job to her and and to all of the other attendees as well.
What a great "paycheck" to the instructor crew!!
The members of the club that stuck it out with us throughout the weekend were awesome. From getting the gate opened up super early for us to setting up lunch tables and helping us to set up friday night and tearing everything down this afternoon. Hats off to you all. Project Appleseed would be in very dire straits without clubs and people like your selves helping us out with the mission of heritage, history and marksmanship. Thank you.

Wonderful weekend spent will wonderful Americans. Really hot but the shooters stuck it out, with Sunday being hotter than Saturday. many thanks to the Vienna Fish and Game Club. My 12th year in a row...have not missed any. Always a great time.
Thanks shooters for being so open minded and for being just a great group to work with.

Fantastic event.  Cleared Red Coats, new Riflemen and Riflewomen, new Blue Hats, lots of youth and ladies on the line, and a great range.  Looks like a GREAT way to spend a weekend.

Thanks to MsMtnEagle as our LBOTG, EZ3 for coming over from PA to run the event, and to all the instructors that helped out.  Great job all.

I want to thank you all for the opportunity to be line boss.
I cannot wait to help with the next Project Appleseed shoot !!!

See you then !!

On April 26, 1777, when she was just 16 years old, Sybil Ludington rode from Putnam County, New York to Danbury, Connecticut to warn of advancing British troops. Her ride took place in the dead of night through dark woods and in the rain, lasting from 9:00 P.M. to dawn the next morning. She rode her horse, Star, over 40 miles to warn 400 militiamen that the British troops were planning to attack Danbury, where the Continental Army held a supply of food and weapons.

The Canfield event is Sept. 11-12.  For now it's still a 'private' event, but they may open to the public if they can't fill it from their own group.  It's at 23/40 now.
