Folks, Appleseed has a goal of doubling in size every year, and to do that, we have to get the word out to the masses. In order for that to happen, we need volunteers to step up and promote our events on the local level. Boots on the Ground...... YOU!

For every event, we need a Promotions Boss (PB) - someone who will ensure there are shooters at the events. Someone to make sure that every American in their area has the opportunity to at least hear about the Appleseed Project and to know that it's coming to a location near them soon!

If you are someone new to Appleseed or someone looking for a way to "help out" or "get involved" this is it! This is also a good way to help your friends, family, neighbors and maybe even get the word out to someone like yourself, who otherwise wouldn't have heard of Appleseed.  And most of all, it's a great way to do something positive to help our great nation become a nation of Riflemen once again.

Volunteer! Step up! Post your promotional efforts here on this forum and don't be scared to say, "I wanna be the Promotions Boss for this event!"

I was thinking about leaving some promotional 50 ft targets at my local indoor range in preparation for the 18-19 April Appleseed in Castle Rock.  Does anyone have a flyer for this event that I can attach?

Folks, we need to get serious on this.  As slim said, the goal of Appleseed is to double in size every year.  Now for the mathematicians in the house, I know that eventually we're gonna run outta people, but we're still a LOOONG way away from that...  :)

That all being said, here's some specific suggestions for how to promote Appleseed in Oregon:

Got a Sportsman's Warehouse in your neighborhood?  Print off the fliers for the upcoming shoot, run 20 copies at the local Kinko's, and ask them to put them on the gun counter.  I took some to the SW closest to me, and they're already out...  Gotta drop by and give them some more....

Got a range in your neighborhood?  Even better if it's the range you normally shoot at!  Next time you're there, put 10 or so fliers in the clubhouse or just outside the firing line.  Matter of fact, if you see someone with a rifle case, HAND them a flier and give them the 30 second Appleseed shpiel.  Did that just last night, and the gentleman may just be coming out to the next 'Seed because someone could actually talk to him about it and answer his questions right there on the spot.

Gun shows:  This is a biggie folks.  And we're gonna need volunteers for it.  We need people to man a booth at the gun shows.  We'll have fliers, maybe even a slideshow running on a laptop with pictures of previous Appleseeds.  Just need someone to be there and hand out fliers, answer questions, and explain what Appleseed is (An American History and Heritage program with a very good, traditional, rifle marksmanship component) and what it isn't (a militia organization).

Other forums...  Are you a member on another gun forum?  put a link to the upcoming appleseed there.

Folks, ultimately we're looking for someone to be a Promotions Boss.  You'll be working with the State Coordinator and Ambassadors and going out and promoting Appleseed wherever you can.  If that's something you're interested in doing, PM me or Wheeler and we'll get you going....  :)
