We had 12 motivated members of TWAW show up bright and early Sunday morning ready to work on their Marksmanship skills at this one day Ladyseed. The weather was sunny  and not overly hot or humid as we started.  It was unfortunate that we had a family group of four who could not join us as the mom was called into work at the last minute and we had another shooter who had to cancel due to family issues.

The day opened with the normal welcome and safety briefing. Rifles were brought to the line and the morning Red Coat was shot.  Results were good at 100 yds but they showed we had room for improvement.

Dragonfly Warrior (an Appleseed IIT and TWAW Chapter Leader) presented the steady hold factors in prone, followed by the six steps and NPOA instructions.  Related drills were shot and the morning moved on to shooting sighting groups and an IMC presentation.  We broke for lunch and the First Strike.

After lunch we applied sights adjustments and shot confirmation groups.

Next steady hold instructions in seated and standing were presented and were followed by related drills. The Second Strike was presented at our afternoon break and we returned to the line for our first AQT.

On that first AQT, Rachel stepped up and proved that she was a woman that "knows what she is about" shooting a 217 to earn her purple patch.  A second AQT was shot and another shooter, Anne, showed she too had the makings of a Riflewoman shooting the same score as Rachel, 217.  They shared the title of High Score for the event.

The day ended with the afternoon Red Coat which showed improvement from the morning.  Unfortunately, the weather had turned for the worse.  There were thunderstorms just to the west and one of the shooters got a call from home that hail was coming our way.  We had to quickly break down the line, pack up the canopies, load all the shoot materials and "get out of Dodge" before the bad weather could arrive.   This meant that we did not have the chance to present the Third Strike and complete the story.

I would encourage all the shooters to come join us again if for no other reason than to hear the end of our story.
Our thanks to the Cardinal Shooting Center for hosting our event and my thanks to Dragonfly Warrior, Lozen, Crazyduckhunter, Cactus Jack, GMJoe  and Rattlehead  for helping with this shoot.  It was a pleasure to see  every one of you.

We look forward to our next event at Cardinal.

This one day event was awesome! Glad that I was able to get down there for it. It was great to meet some other Apple-seeders from the other side of the state to. Great time was had by all.
