Anyone planning on going to the NRA convention at the end of April in Indianapolis?

You may have been talking to your own homies from your state, but I'll be there brother Friday and Saturday.
Those who stay will be champions. Those who persist will be riflemen.

Ditto to Uncle Davey. I'm from Texas, but I'll be there Friday and Saturday as well--sporting the Appleseed gear :).

Dates are April 25-27, open 9-6 (Sun till 5).  Make sure you visit the Appleseed booth #2945.  We're all the way against the "right side" wall of the map.

We have a large contingent working hard to make sure this is a successful event.  The booth is supposed to be even better than last year, lots of people stepping up to work the booth (and working a show is HARD!).  Team of people deployed for media interaction and to visit and work with our industry partners.

Talk to the folks in the booth.  I'm sure that having folks in Appleseed gear, armed with the right talking points, walking the show with Appleseed literature to hand out to those that they speak with would be very welcome.

I'm planning on wearing my shirts, but is it appropriate to wear our hats there?

If you are wanting to work the booth contact Auntiebellum as she is the coordinator for volunteers.

As for hats, if you are just mingling the floor they are fine.  The issue is that they do not look professional and we are not known by RWVA (people know us as Appleseed), but on the other hand they are very recognizable to previous attendees and may get you some conversations that way.

Do contact Auntibellum though if you are coming - it will help coordination a lot.

I think so (on the hats) I'm working there both days. See you there PaleRider!

My attendance depends on my day job and a hospital we are bringing live this weekend.  If all is well, I can go.  If not I will be stuck going nowhere for the next 2 months.    %)

I'll be working at the convension as an NRA firearms safety inspector.  I don't know yet if we're required to wear any NRA specific clothing.  If not, I'll have on one of my Appleseed Tshirts.

Sorry for the slightly offtopic, but when is Appleseed going to deal with the problem that techres identifies in the above quoted post?

(Note: I specifically refer to the problem of inconsistent branding and lack of professionalism regarding the hats we keep distributing even after the problem has been identified.)

I know there is a dedicated marketing/promotions team that is being assembled.  They may take that on.  We could bring it up to them.

Any MN / WI / IA / Dakotas folks heading down?  We could carpool if in the right direction.
