BlueFeather

Hi guys, this is Blue Feather from NM.  Those of you who know me or know of me, know I work hard and play hard. I am serious that our health is equally as important as keeping up our shooting skills.  (You can track some of my posts about junk food at Appleseeds, or even my blog post starting up the topic of getting into shape  http://bluefeathersoaps.blogspot.com/2012/10/regaining-health.html   ).

OK, so I am invading your space today to ask you to consider how you vote for Cal Prop 37, the GMO Labeling Act.  GMO foods have infiltrated our food supply for about 12 years now, with the largest agribusiness in the game being Monsanto.  The Act requires that all GMO products sold in the US be so labelled -- this is already required in Europe.  Large agribusiness and all the large food manufacturers (Kelloggs, Dean Food, etc) have given millions of dollars to defeat this bill, and Whole Foods Markets has been found to be lying about the GMO presence in their offerings.  Many of the 'natural food' companies we have come to know (Kashi, Larbar, etc) are actually owned by the agribusinesses trying to defeat the act.

We don't know the long term impact of GMO foods, though we do know that they cause cancerous tumors in rats.  GMO DNA has infiltrated so many growers in the US, that commercial seed savers have almost been sued out of business by Monsanto.  Almost all soybean, corn, cottonseed, alfalfa and sugar beets are GMO. Animals fed these foodstuffs, potentially pass this on to us.

Please read up about this and vote as an informed voter.  As goes Cali, so goes the country, so what happens with this act has a huge impact on the rest of us.

Right now, the only way to avoid GMO ingredients is to eat only organic food or grow your own, and to shun all processed foods.

Thank you so much for your time.  If you have any questions, please PM me.

/Gillian

This is my first reply / post at this web site. I stumbled on the link to this organization through an alternative energy/survival site during the hurricane/storm headed for the east coast while researching power issues for a friend with a wife and 4 kids who can't power his NY home because he can't afford the fuel/electric/water bills.

This inability to clothe and house and feed American families was reflected in Thomas Jefferson's statement: "...if you allow foreign interests to control your money supply ... your children will wake up homeless in the fields of the nation your forefathers conquered." and reflected in statements by Washington in his farewell to Office, Jackson, Lincoln, Ike (his farewell), Kennedy...the list goes on and we ignore it. I had a discussion today with a man ready to vote for Obama who asked me which candidate was better. I replied they are like two species of termites: a blue termite and a red termite who each destroy a different part of the home eating different wood and further eroding the structure of America - neither is good and the future in this nation is dark.

And as Blue Feather has brought forward, the food is now contaminated as well. The rivers, soil, air, water, food - all designed to wipe out the aging population of America and the world, with those who can survive bleeding the last of their savings for drugs that destroy 100 physiological/biological systems for every 1 they cure.

This is America today.

I do not know if teaching Americans to "shoot" is the answer, though it is a skill I believe every child should know, especially when required to hunt in a field to eat jack rabbits to survive. I spoke to a man yesterday who finished a 6 month stint caring for his dying mother and survived during that time on jack rabbits while unemployed in an impoverished county. Neighbors laughed at him for being so bold. I applaud his tenacity and remind "survivalists" that no critter on earth produces so much meat per year for so little cost. Perhaps the "official dish" of Appleseed Members might be Jack Rabbit Stew if you're Irish, Jack Rabbit Pasta if you're Italian, Jack Rabbit Cajun if you enjoy French-Afro spice and Jack Rabbit Tacos if you lean towards the Jalapeno and Salsa crowd. Perhaps the Jack Rabbit Society ought to be born right here among the Women who can shoot and who could package up a book on 1,001 survival techniques, dishes to serve families, methods to build durable homes and ways of producing fuel and clothing from nothing. Perhaps it is the Mothers and Grandmas of the Appleseed crowd that have the biggest incentives to putting some meat on the table and some wood in the fire. Considering Russians survived on pancakes through some of their hardest years I'll suggest Jack Rabbits would be preferable. But shooting our way out of this mess isn't an answer when we know the pen is mightier than the sword. I believe that the members of this particular organization have the vision, mindset and historical perspective required to "Git er done" and if their sights were trained on an effective campaign, beyond rifle skills and hunting, beyond reverence for those lessons taught by our forefathers, cherished and important as they are and should always be, beyond issues about the pollution of our resources and corruption of our political and economic systems and the utter destruction of the Constitution, now a shadow of its former glory and original design, we could teach our older generation and the younger ones to seize the power of local, state and federal government as quickly as possible, holding dear the knowledge of what America was in the past and was supposed to be - a light for all nations and all people - a shining example of what civilization could be - both now and well into the future.

If we do not regain the course quickly, laid down so clearly by our founding fathers, no rifles or protests will be sufficient to recover our rights, our way of life, our principles or our future. Armed communities and activists are easily mowed down in the field by modern military might - or as Zbigniew Brzezinski said "It used to be easier to control a million people than to kill a million people. Now it is easier to kill a million people." - and that is the fate of the armed protestor. I do not disagree with the principle spoken by Jefferson that Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of tyrants, rather I do believe there are more effective, rapid and constructive mechanisms for correcting the course of this nation instead of relying on some sort of armed revolt that would surely lead us to civil war, anarchy, grave expense for the current and future generations and in the end, no guarantee that the next set of politicians would be any less corrupt than the last.

To truly recover our nation from the ashes of its original structure will take no less than every patriot pressing their local and state governments into a coordinated body such as has not existed since before the civil war when STATE'S RIGHTS were the true issue, not Slavery, which most intelligent, civilized humans agree is never in our best interest no matter who is kept in bondage.

Free Men and Women, ripe with innovation and ideas and encouraged to experiment, pressing the limits of technology, the arts and science make for a wonderful brain trust that thrived in the United States for several hundred years. The debt slaves and educationally deprived nation we have become has crushed that spirit along with our manufacturing capacity and with it, our ability to get a grip on our economic future. Many blame housing bubbles or borrowing from foreign nations or the aging population, or even the foreign bankers for our woes, but the reality is that the true blame lies with every American as we look at ourselves in the mirror and ask if we lived up to the expectations, the honor and principles laid down when this nation fought to be free. Except for text in a few bastardized Treatise signed with England shortly after that war, we won that right, yet have failed to claim the prize, being fooled into believing we are a sovereign nation, when really we are but a Crown Corporation, not entirely unlike Canada or Australia.

I might suggest that instead of honoring some set of treasonous documents that compromised our Constitution and our rights to declare the United States a Sovereign Nation, that we place into government, starting at the local level to form a coordinated body of Mayors and State Legislatures who worked together across city and state lines, drawn from a sufficient number of patriots who quickly confirm an agenda and a schedule, both by law, resolutions and decree, and then by structure and form, from the highest offices of our Treasury and Military, down to the smallest school houses and thinnest history book for every 6 year old child to read.

I might suggest that instead of allowing any corporation to feed us food or water known to trigger cancer in humans and animals, we pass laws making such crimes paramount to mass murder, then try the Officers of such corporations as if for war crimes, since in the end, that is what has been waged against America since Cornwallis lost at Yorktown.

I might suggest that Presidents, Senators, Congressmen and Governors, College Electorates and any politician who continued to support the existing corrupt set of laws in place, those rules that allow a 10 year old girl visiting Grandma for Thanksgiving to be frisked at an airport by a total stranger - and all the rest of such nonsense designed to "protect us while robbing our Liberty" - that politicians who do not immediately and with vigor, repeal those laws and reinstate the original principles we inherited by winning the war of 1776 - that such politicians be viewed as Traitors as well, and dealt with in the least, by removing them from office not by vote, rather by rapid-fire impeachment and votes of no confidence by local communities. If it required you to draw on your local population and produce 20 Mayors in 60 days until you had one that could produce realistic practical, cost-effective answers, who could work with Mayors around them, pressuring and shaping your State Legislature and policies of your Governors and then your Representatives in Congress, that's better than having to go through 100 Mayors in a year. Odds are by the time you got to the 10th newly elected Mayor in a month they'd be so keen on fast-tracking the process of recovery their plans would hit the ground running, they'd be joining a league of Mayors with similar agendas, methods and techniques and surely those in higher offices would know a wave of popular support and change is coming like a freight train for all those above and around them. It would be unstoppable.

And I might suggest that in those many offices that would soon become vacant if such laws and rapid-fire replacements took place, their replacements would know clearly as they walked through the doors, sat down at those desks and began to unwind this nightmare that has become a tainted, corrupt, crushed America, they have no time to waste or they'll face a similar fate of being tossed out for being either corrupt or apathetic or ineffective at putting America back on track. They'd organize their cities and communities, draft policies that brought their Legislatures and Governors in line and brought corrupt officials at the Federal level to their knees, sprinting for the exits, and in less than a year the finest Mayors and State Officials this nation had ever produced would be knocking on the White House door and asking the termite inside, whatever color he might be, if it was time to go or get with the program.

That Blue Termite known as Obama promised many things related to renewable energy and cleaning up the environment; an agenda that held promise for boosting America's manufacturing sector and perhaps in a few small ways, he's provided tokens of those promises, but 16 Trillion dollars later, I see little evidence of any substantial progress on those fronts. Even former Governor Granholm of Michigan had a chance when we took a series of technologies to Michigan and a plan to rebuild and revitalize Detroit and the surrounding States and it was bungled by committees and lethargic bureaucracy. Now those states and that once great region of manufacturing and American know-how are impoverished far beyond anything seen in the Great Depression. And when we approached Silicon Valley VC firms with synthetic fuels developed by a team from NASA Ames, Stanford and the White Sands Missile Range that could put gas at the pump at $1.50 - $2.50 a gallon forever, they laughed us off the stage asking if we knew where we were, reminding us that they only do "High Tech" - routers, web sites and tiny phones - in California. And I might remind Blue Feather that when we approached the Tribes of Native Americans, a group of Americans I hold dear, have lived with in honor and fond, cherished memories, and presented a plan to seize these manufacturing, fuel, food and energy opportunities, each with a potential to generate far more revenue than any "Casino or Traditional Artistic product", the Tribes were so slow to move forward and so divided among their various factions that after three years the VCs who were funding the idea of empowering Native Americans, enhancing and promoting their natural ways and culture and genuine "Pristine American Open Space Mindset and Spirituality" just gave up. This isolationist attitude combined with gross apathy so prevalent in America and our inability to form large cohesive teams with vision, and form teams across all geographic, religious, financial stratus and color lines is the great weakness in America's body of citizens today. Perhaps if we have MAYORS who can represent us in an effective grass roots movement, who know their tenure is brief if they stumble, from that massive body of 300 million plus citizens we'll find the home run hitters who can lead this nation down the right path and do so quickly.

The Red Termite who held office before the Blue Termite took over spent so much money on so many erroneous military campaigns overseas in wars our founding fathers warned us to avoid, were we to have 1/10th of that expense in hand, I dare say there would be less than half of the homeless mothers on the street with their children as there is today. We sat by as he used excuses and buzzwords of WMD, anthrax attacks and silly techniques of protection that involved duct-tape and plastic, as FEAR AND PANIC raged across America, while those who begged for a level-headed investigation of the events of 9/11 and the people involved were crushed. We ignored due process of law and destroyed the lives of the witnesses and honest citizens asking for the truth, all done in the face of so many statements by experts, including firemen on the scene of facts that didn't match the Federal version of the events. The lowliest shipping clerk at the Pentagon, an African American, testified that upon hearing the explosion on the far side of the building he watched a jet fly away in the opposite direction. That just about sums it up for anyone with an IQ above 50.

We've neglected our home front and allowed these leaders to ruin us and whether they were corrupt or inept is of little consequence today. Today the only thing that really matters is whether or not real men and women and their children can seize their offices with the speed of a Jack Rabbit and the legal empowerment of a set of rules - Quality Control Standards - all Mayors and Legislatures, Governors, Congressmen and dare I say Presidents, should be held to in our quest to regain control of America and put it back on course.

With all the drugs so many people are on, the beer and wine and distractions so many people fall prey to, along with the tainted food, water and air we are exposed to every minute of every day, most people believe such a turn around is all but impossible. We are a Date-Raped nation, paralyzed by fear and uncertainty, yet watching with horror as our standard of living crashes to that of a field peasant - almost overnight. Certainly the bankers and international corporations who led us to this point in time laugh at such a turn around...indeed. They laugh because all trend lines, graphs and photos of pup tents under freeways indicate they've won the prize that more than 200 years ago, Cornwallis said they would eventually seize...and he was right.

The men in taverns of pre-revolutionary America were more politically savvy than those politicians in office today, let alone the citizens who put them there and allow them to stay. I might suggest that coffee or tea, rather than beer and wine, would make a better drink for those who wish to solve these grave issues surrounding us today. If you're going to drink beer or wine, I might suggest that each Sunday you serve your family a finely prepared plate of Jack Rabbit cuisine, so they know in their hearts and understand in their minds that the comforts they enjoy today are vaporizing faster than a raging forest consumed by a fire driven by the hot winds of Autumn.

October is a great time for natural change and November is supposed to reflect and confirm those changes, while December is supposed to be a time of peace of mind and an opportunity for charity and families together again as we share our bounty with those we know and care about and those we may have only recently met. It has been that way for 1,000s of years and unlikely to change anytime soon. Do you want to wait another year before you see positive changes come to your communities or do you want to take what you've seen and what you know and teach those around you to ignite a political fire today? Surely there's plenty of kindling on the ground and on our streets and when that torches off the big question becomes whether we'll work together to create something tasty, progressive, innovative and effective that all Americans will enjoy, or will some form of continuing chaos, fear, panic, uncertainty and disjointed action increase the mess that is America today?

I believe that while the solution starts with researching and knowing, respecting and holding dear the principles inherent in societies and web sites like this, it doesn't end there. Once knowledge is acquired of what was, what is and what is coming, then applying those lessons through focused, coordinated action becomes our best salvation. We can all "jaw" about so many issues in the world today; web sites and forums tend to create that sort of arm-chair reaction. I know of one ultra-conservative Vietnam Vet who disbelieved what I told him a few years ago, but honored me just enough to do a little research. The fire that ignited in his heart led him to begin a campaign of emails in an attempt to educate his friends and family who all thought he'd lost his mind. I suggested he try a different approach, but instead he just gave up in disgust and took his family to a foreign country to enjoy his retirement in peace.

So many who know the truth are doing just that, while those left behind are either blind and ignorant or next to useless for actually starting, let alone completing the task at hand. As I sat with a group of college aged girls and polled them about the root causes of the great economic crash, not only did they barely skim the "media" version of bank policies and bubbles, but laughed it all off, relishing with enthusiastic glee the fact that with so many department stores going bankrupt they'd be able to get $100 Pink Nike Tennis Shoes for $20 or less in January. That is the IQ and Focus of American Youth today and as long as we continue to buy "Foreign", rather than making it here and enjoying our own crafts, we are giving away our land, freedom and our rights with every dollar spent and sent to foreign lands. It doesn't matter if its Argentina Beef or Iranian or Nigerian Oil: both products - food and fuel - that we can make here in sufficient amounts using renewable, sustainable methods and with that capability produce high quality products for consumption and export. We don't need a printing press to resolve our national debt; a useless, destructive tactic specifically designed to bring us to our knees, which it has done, almost effortlessly. Instead we simply need to get busy and make products that are in hot demand in the Global Village we all share, and we have plenty of natural resources and technology to do it. Only the politicians and bankers stand in our way and only the citizens and residents of our awesome nation can leap over and thereafter go far beyond that stone wall.

Can we actually CREATE a working group of concepts, objectives and activities for real change? That remains to be seen, but if such an effective grass roots movement were to be born from any "Web Site", this would appear to be about the most fertile ground I've seen in a long, long time.
If you tried to spend as much time as I have

Thank you GrandmaHistorian

That is the way I see and try to get people to correct and right this country, but they just don't get it/or how can we get people to TRY when everything is handed to them free, and no work ethic exist anymore,,,

This is the best post I've read on here in a very long time,,

Thank you

RODGE

Thank you, GrandmaHistorian for your perceptive insight.  I have to agree with sgtrock, that I have seldom, if ever, read so much truth in a single penned arcticle having to do with our future.  It is indeed refreshing to know someone with common sense and logic still has the courage to pen such truth.  Welcome to Appleseed and please do express yourself again and again.  We here at Appleseed do have a mission to accomplish more than just learn to shoot.  We teach involvement.  Getting active in our local communities.  But first it's important to realize our own heritage in order to be able to take the next step.  We teach marksmanship to "honor" those who made the tough decisions on 18/19 April, 1775. Welcome aboard,  Rodge
What we allow is what will continue!

What have you done for LIBERTY today?

When a Timid Canadian Bride decided to make America her home I took her into the woods with a 9mm semi auto and explained if she expected to be honored and respected in "this neck of the woods" she'd better learn how to hit a pie plate at 50 yards - 100 would be even better. Within a month she could clean, fire and hit faster and better than any man I've ever met and when she got done cleaning and assembling it was immaculate, while that tattered paper plate became the talk of the town and a memorable trophy for her for a long, long time.

While I appreciate the friends here and have far more to say than you might imagine, I don't believe I need to say any more about either my personal beliefs or my hopes for America or methods I might suggest for creating an effective group of policies and people capable of creating RAPID positive changes. Blue Feather's post related to FOOD - a key ingredient to our survival and a key cause to our suffering and path to an early grave - tells so much about what is happening to America, that if you don't get it by now its probably beyond my intellectual capacity and patience to berate any of these topics further.

As DeVinci reminds us, its better to create one masterpiece than 1,000 bits of cheap art designed to put money in the bank and shoes on the feet of your children. They're better off barefoot, inspired to greatness by your dedication to creating fine, memorable, lasting art.

I believe our Founding Fathers had a similar mindset when they drafted the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. More is the pity we've ignored their inspiring lessons and neglected those fine gifts all of humanity should cherish - forever.
