Get the word out - there is an inaugural shoot coming up at a new Appleseed Range in Columbia Falls, Montana.

Range:  North Valley Sportsman's Club

Address: Mile Marker 4 ½, North Fork Rd, Columbia Falls, MT

Website: www.nvsc.info

When: June 2nd and 3rd

Range Fee: $5.00 per person for the event

Camping available: Primitive camping in national forest nearby, RV campgrounds about 4-5 miles away in Columbia Falls.

Hotels: Village Inn, 774 Railroad St East, Columbia Falls, MT.  About 3 miles from the range.  Many other hotels, motels, and B&Bs within 5-10 miles of the range.

Directions: From downtown Columbia Falls head north on Nucleus Ave until it dead-ends at Hwy 486.  This is the North Fork Road.  Turn right and proceed 3.6 miles to the range driveway (on your right).  There will be a "Shoot"sign indicating the driveway.  Turn right and proceed .4 mile to the range gate on your right.  Park and leave rifles in the vehicles until after the safety briefing.

GPS: N 48 degrees 25.455 minutes, W 114 degrees 09.372 minutes.

State Laws to be aware of: Montana has very friendly gun laws; if in doubt follow the laws of your home state and you'll be well within compliance.

What to Bring:  Bring your .22's and save money!  Or you can bring your centerfire, as the range will accommodate either.  We may or may not have the opportunity to fire at known (looong) distance) out to 400 yards, depending on other activity at the club range on sunday afternoon.
Also, bring plenty of warm and waterproof clothes appropriate for the weather, as there is very little shelter at the range and we will be outside all day.  Bring whatever you need to be comfortable in outdoor (field) conditions.  A folding style camp chair is quite handy.  Water, food (we have working lunches), sunscreen, etc.
For the rifle don't forget to bring ammo (400 rounds minimum), ear protection, eye protection, sling, mat or pad, several magazines, hat, staple gun, sunglasses.

Misc:  First time this has been offered in Northwest Montana, get signed up early to reserve your spot!  Should be beautiful weather in a beautiful location.
