Congratulations, and remember this is just the beginning of your journey.

When I think of what it must of been like early AM April 19 1775, on the parade ground at Lexington Green, it sends a shiver down my spine. Not knowing what was going to happen, yet I would have felt comfort in knowing that the men I stood with new what they were about. Friends, brothers, fathers, and sons all willing to give up his life for the man standing next to him.  Willing to give up their life for liberty, and the freedoms of generations to follow.  These men felt the urgency, of the day.
Captain Parker told the training band to stand their ground, and not to fire unless the regulars fired first, "But if they mean to have a war, he said, "Let it begin here!"

Recipe
Hannah Davis Baked Apple Crunch

Filling:
2 lbs. of Granny Smith Apples
1/2 c. Sugar
1 tsp. Cinnamon
1 tsp. Nutmeg
1 tsp Ground Cloves
A Simple Crunch:
1/2 c. Flour
4 Tblsp. Sugar
3 Tblsp. Butter (or Margarine)
1 tsp. Vanilla

Preparations:

Peel and core apples, slicing them into small half moon sections.
Place the apple sections into a large mixing bowl and slowly add the sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves.
Making sure the apples are fully coated with the sugar spice mixture, pour them into an 8 or 9 inch pie dish or baking pan.
Next prepare the crunch by working the crunch mixture between the fingers and drizzle the crumbs on top of apple filling.
Now bake for one hour on middle oven shelf at 350 degrees.
Garnish with a sprinkle of powdered sugar and serve warm.
