We shot the Parkers Revenge target in Concord, CA on April 27, and it was a hoot!

The team I was on was a bit disorganized during the strategy session. We pretty much ran out of time just getting everyone to understand the rules, and in the end just assigned Smith, the officers, and grenadier to four volunteers. Most team members were reluctant to volunteer for a high value target. We had the remaining team members divide up the remaining troops. There were seven of us, and we had everyone load 5 rounds with an extra 6th round for the team members assigned a high value target. Not super strategic.

Afterward we were joking about how we needed more time to get organized, and it would have been nice to be able to ask Smith and his column to slow their march for us, "Excuse me, sir? Could you guys hold up for a second while we prepare to ambush you? We just need a few more minutes. That would be great. Thanks!"

I guess that's not how ambushes work. We had to go with what we had. Our team ended up winning by two points. I did get 2 hits on the grenadier I was assigned to, so I feel like I did my part. The guy assigned to Smith was incredibly precise in his grouping, just off by a hair. It looked like he put six shots through the same hole, but that hole missed Smith by an eighth of an inch. Ironically, I think if his group had opened up a bit, he would have got a hit or two.

Hopefully we can do this again sometime!
