The National Parks Service and Minuteman National Historical Park have a series of events planned for March and April 2025 in celebration of the 250th Anniversary of Patriots' Day.

If you're in the neighborhood, I encourage you to consider attending!

While visiting Lexington and Concord in October last year, the manager of the gift shop at the Lexington visitor center suggested visiting Lexington Green in the evenings in the week leading up to the official reenactment. The reenactors practice onsite. Getting a spot to actually see the reenactment at the official event is very hard, not to mention parking and navigating the crowd. The roads, walking areas, and parking lots have undergone extensive renovations. Although the North Bridge was visible from visitors center, the area around the North Bridge was closed to the public due to renovation while I was there.
My father didn't serve in WWII.  It wasn't for lack of trying.  He attempted to enlist 3 separate times.  The last time the doctor said he was too short.  He responded that he signed up again because he said he saw a poster that was recruiting short men to be pilots.  The doctor said, "Short, yes.  But this is ridiculous."  In my book, he's still a hero.
