This was my first Appleseed Pistol event. I've been to the rifle events before.
Safety was always first and foremost.  Great instructors!

This is the best fundamentals of pistol shooting course there is (period). The plan of instruction was very well organized. It set you up to grow into the techniques along the way.

Oh, one thing to those of you who think you know how to shoot.  You can improve by going through this course, unless you've already been to good training.  This is great training for all.  Yes it's a fundamentals course but don't take that to mean it's basic shooting.  No, it's about form, technique, accuracy, speed, and repeatability. Everyone should take this course.  Even the military guys in my class learned a lot.

Lessons learned: practice weak hand one hand shooting more.  I came close to getting the Pistoleerâ„¢ Patch but I missed it by 4 points.  My left hand shooting was terrible, in my opinion.  I never considered the importance of being able to shoot one handed with dominant and weak hands so I never practiced it.  Next time, I'll be more prepared.

Bring 600 rounds of ammo at least for the two days.  Bring a backup gun.  There's a lot of shooting and no cleaning opportunities really.  Take note that 22 ammo is notoriously dirty and may cause failures.  :wb:   Have your gun sighted in before hand. Check your mounts for being loose.  Blue Loctite is your friend.  All sight screws need to be "Loctited", if that's a word. This will prevent mount failures.

The meat bees were terrible but, we're having a really bad season for them everywhere around us. The instructors set up a meat bucket trap for them and that reduced the numbers greatly. Bring bug spray to help keep from being harassed.

Again, thanks to the instructors.  You make it what it is.
