This weekend we kicked off Colorado's first pistol clinic of the year at Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club in Denver! We greatly appreciate the support of Skyline Hunting and Fishing Club in hosting our events. The weather was amazing all weekend long, which is rare for Colorado at this point in the spring.

As we kicked off our event, we moved quickly through instruction as everyone on the line was shooting well. We reviewed grip and stance, 6 steps of firing the shot and NPOA and worked on fundamentals in the morning. We talked targets and covered magazine changes and honed the fundamentals before lunch. Groups were already shrinking by this point.

We heard riveting recounts of the events of April 19th, 1775 over lunch and jumped right back to controlled pairs, target transitions and one handed shooting. Everyone was looking very good, so at that point, with everyone feeling confident, we posted the first PQT of the weekend! As the dust settled from it, a Pistoleerâ„¢ emerged! Matt finished PQT 1 with a very respectable score of 211! We took a quick break and ScubaSteve regaled us with the story of Sam and Sam. Afterwards, everyone was feeling inspired to do some more shooting so we posted another PQT. We wrapped the day up with a hits count target and Matt finished strong, clearing that! The difference between the morning hits count COF and afternoon hits count COF was apparent, and everyone made big improvements.

Thanks to all of our students for coming out for this event, we really appreciate your teachable attitudes, enthusiasm and positivity throughout the day. All of those things make a difference, and it showed in your pistol marksmanship.

Many thanks to our team of instructors: Zuke, Mahamotorworks, taildragger and ScubaSteve for making this event happen. It was a great event.

So what is Project Appleseed Business?  What would the Ghost of Project Appleseed say to us?

"Business!'" cried the Ghost of Project Appleseed, wringing its hands again.  "Liberty was my business; Heritage, History, Freedom, and Pursuit of Happiness, were, all, my business. The deals of Marksmanship were but a drop of water in the comprehensive ocean of my business!"
-Adapted from Charles Dickens A Christmas Carol.

What a great event.

Thanks so much to the instructors for letting me come out, and thanks even more to the shooters for coming out, learning marksmanship and hearing the stories of the founding of our nation.
