Project Appleseed

Thirteen students assembled on beautiful but windy day on April 27 for marksmanship and history lessons at the Tactical Response range. All of them were first time Appleseeders. The range itself is extensive and beautiful. Many excellent firearm classes are offered there.  And the managers of the range were so welcoming and helpful to us. One shot with us and enjoyed it thoroughly.

The rest of the students were likewise very attentive and responsive to everything that we presented, including the history. In fact, I rarely encounter a class which is so pleasant and eager to receive our messages. Half of the students were ladies, as well as a few youths.

Many were shooting very well and should receive Rifleman Patches next time. However, Tyler did it this time with a score of 210. And, of course he received a drenching of water from the North Bridge. Congratulations Tyler.

We anticipate more events at this range, as well as more students. Since this is a new event for the area, we hope more people will learn about us.

Good job Tyler! Earning Rifleman at your first event is quite an accomplishment. You earned that baptism sir.

This was a great event. The shooters were attentive and diligent. I was very happy to have 2 ladies there who Little Shine and I consider "bonus kids."  They both did very well and plan on coming back to earn their patch.

Why are there no more events at this location this year?  This is a great place,  Think we should go back there.

It is a great place and there was a good supply of enthusiastic shooters, and the host club was most welcoming. I checked with the TN State Coordinator quite some time ago about having one there this year and he said that there were so many other events in TN that were planned to be scheduled that we would undoubtedly have difficulty finding enough instructors this time. I certainly want to have another one there as soon as we can. In the meantime, perhaps you can find another one in TN to attend. You can see there are several others listed.

going to Mcminnville this weekend,  there are very few events on this end of the state. 

There will be more TN events posted very soon...some of which are in West TN.   

AWESOME......Got my RIFLEMAN Today in McMinnville.  Scored a 212. Looking forward to more shoots in my area, this one was 3 hrs from home, but it was a nice trip even with the excessive wind, poring rain and Tornadoes......

I am in Houston Co.  one over from Stewart co.  Stewart CO holds the distinction of the highest firearms ownership per capita in the nation.  we are about 30 minutes from Ft Campbell, there is lots of shooting, hunting and gun action in this area.  If you can get it established here, I think it will run all on its own....

Holladay is about and Hour from here but Tactical Response is so well established that everyone in the local area can find it.

Gotcha.  There's interest and a potential site near Waverly.  I'll work on it.

Sent some info with Mr Martin about a guy i tried to recruit, he is in Dover.  HEs an instructor for EVERYTHING, HE took a regular job and now only teach Permit classes but he has a great range  You can find him on FB at Hilltop firearms training. If you could get in there, it would draw. 

My home range is in Puryear, TN, which is close to Dover. We have had events there for many years. We have one there in May but it is filled up already. A number of people from Dover are members of our club and come to our AS events.

Puryear fills up fast. I always try to get in that one but by the time I figure out my arrangements, its usually full....

That looks like a very nice range.
