What a great event. We had 9 great Americans come out to the Eustis Gun Club in Tavares Fl for a great weekend with Project Appleseed.

The weather was not exactly our friend. When we started at 8:30 we had already hit the high for the day and those that showed up in shorts were not too happy but it did not slow them down. We went to the classroom and told the history of how America cam to be.

Out on the firing line we jumped right into the basics of marksmanship. By the end of day one we had two rifleman, one new and one requalify. Great job Hunter turning in a 213 on his first AQT. Matt turned in a 232 as well. Outstanding.

Day two was a bit cold. Morgan and Steve could not make it back and we missed them. Hope to see you at the next event.

Day two was review and practice. Ball and Dummy taught our shooters not only how to shoot but also how to coach.  By the end of day two we had 3 Rifleman. Hunter struggled with long pants and a jacket but did turn in a 210 by the end of the day.  John and Matt also scored a rifleman score with a 221 and 229.

Also a shout out has to go to Lucas our youngest shooter. Lucas shot more rounds this weekend than he has in his entire life. Day one was not kind to him. His first AQT was a 69. He showed determination and grit and stuck it out. By the end of the weekend, he turned in a very respectable 132.  Great job Lucas.

Thanks to all the shooters and instructors this weekend. We hope to see you back on the firing line again soon.

So glad I was here to see this group of shooters and instructors!  It was a true privilege to be there.  Lucas!! We are all so proud of you!  Steve, thank you for bringing out such an amazing young man.  You should be very proud.  Morgan I can't wait to see you on the line again.  Hunter- "Joe Dirt" I can't wait to see you in Leesburg!!  Karen, you better watch out for "shotgun" 206?!  He's creeping up there!  You better dry practice!  Welcome to the crew Matt and John!!  I'll see you on the line soon.  Reach out if you need anything.
What doesn't kill you makes cool scars, and scars are tattoos with better stories.

Good people, good time.  The instructors kept things moving and the shooters got to shoot a lot.  It was a little chilly but hey, we didn't sweat which is a rare thing in the great Florida outdoors.
