Tennessee Beast

This was a SOLD OUT event.  It was the first Appleseed Pistol Clinic in Indiana, so the local cadre came out in force to check out what one was like.  The public was also "chomping at the bit" to try the "new" program (almost all students had attended at least one rifle clinic).  I really enjoyed working with everyone that came out.   The students soaked up the material like a sponge and their targets showed it!!!  The student to instructor rate was almost 1:1, so that could have contributed some.  ;)  By the end of the day, everyone had improved and we had two new Pistoleer™s (Adam N-219 and Josh D-214).  Huzzah! I hope everyone comes out again.  There is definitely interest in the Appleseed Pistol events in this area!!!! Please post pictures if you have them!

Benjamin Franklin, 1775

What a great event! It was an honor to meet the shooters and the dedicated Indiana cadre!
My father didn't serve in WWII.  It wasn't for lack of trying.  He attempted to enlist 3 separate times.  The last time the doctor said he was too short.  He responded that he signed up again because he said he saw a poster that was recruiting short men to be pilots.  The doctor said, "Short, yes.  But this is ridiculous."  In my book, he's still a hero.

It was a delightful drive up from Nashville and well worth it. The students were a joy to teach and quick to apply the lessons. This is a wonderful range and the area instructors I worked with will ensure this class will continue with high standards.

This was my first Project Appleseed pistol event and as I understand it was also the first to be held in Indiana.  Though I didn't qualify as a Pistoleer™ the training including the drills, detailed guidance from the instructors and historical information was excellent and made this event well worth attending.   I hope there will be more of these events here in Indiana in the future as attending one at least annually would be very helpful in maintaining my handgun skills.  A big thanks to the folks who traveled from Tennessee to help make this event possible, you and the Indiana instructors did a great job. Though I found parts of the training quite challenging (especially non-dominant side one-handed shooting) it was a constructive and fun experience.

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
