What a great weekend.  What we lacked in quantity we made up for in quality.  With only 5 shooters showing up on Saturday we had a great deal of one-on-one instruction time provided by a great group of volunteers.  It was hot and muggy but never quite reached Infernoseed conditions.

Saturday was a first for all the instructors.  All the shooters were using 10/22s. No scopes and only one with TechSights.  All the rest of the rifles were absolutely stock including the Ruger factory sights.

All of the shooters really applied themselves to absorbing the information from the firehose of instruction.

Once the groups started shrinking the difficulty of making precise adjustments to the stock Ruger sights became frustrating for the shooters and by mid afternoon most had transitioned to loaner rifles with either scopes or techsights.  While the AQT on Saturday did not reveal any Riflemen, the Redcoat in the afternoon showed great improvement over the morning.

Noah, who had previously attended with the Sea Cadets, had worked hard and his improvement was marked.  Kudos to his parents for bringing him both days.  It was a pleasure to work with him.

Bill showed great improvement on Saturday and for some reason was a no-show on Sunday.  Keep working on the positions and you will short the score.

Ed brought his son James, and both made marked improvement during the weekend.

Sunday had Dix join us, and Samantha -who had originally only signed up for Saturday (due to difficulty obtaining ammunition) came back determined to better her score.

After polishing solid positions, 6 steps and NPOA for most of the shooters using a laser pointer equipped rifle we commenced on the AQT grind.  While we revealed no Riflemen, we got most out of boot camp.

A great weekend with a great group of people.

This shoot boss apologizes for the tardy AAR.

Sometimes the lightly attended shoots are those where a whole lot of learning takes place, both instructors and students. I used to be disappointed when I had no new Riflemen at an event until I realized that making Riflemen is only a side-effect, not the primary goal of our instruction. Good job by all that attended.
The American Constitution is remarkable for its simplicity; but can only suffice a people habitually correct in their actions, and would be utterly inadequate to the wants of a different nation.  Change the domestic habits of the Americans, their religious devotion, and their high respect for morality, and it will not be necessary to change a single letter in the Constitution in order to vary the whole form of their government. - Francis Grund 1837

A great event, even with just 7 shooters. Dix I really did like what You had done with Your stock. I wish it would have worked. You might try this http://www.troupsystems.com/rimfire%20para%20stocks.htm from Rhineland Arms Inc.

I think I lent out every one of My loaners, all in all this was a Fun event!

Sorry it took so long to post the Pictures.

Arms discourage and keep the invader and plunderer in awe, and preserve order in the world as well as property... Horrid mischief would ensue were the law-abiding deprived of the use of them.
