This was an excellent first day! I can't recall seeing a line of shooters with such nice groups so early on Saturday morning. All of the shooters came with teachable attitudes. Lots 'o kids too! We managed to get through all of the instruction points, shoot one AQT, and both of our redcoats as scheduled.

Guess what? One Rifleman was proven today! Congrats to Curtis!

Looking forward to seeing all that are retuning tomorrow. Thank you for sharing your day with us today!!!

:) Nicely shared pictures on facebook, and here, too. O0
... to catch the fire in another American for sharing the skills and our heritage to our posterity. Maybe my perfect shots will be made by those I met along the trials and trails of Appleseed. I know that America is a nation of Riflemen.

Sunday had 11 of our shooters return to continue their marksmanship instruction and history lessons. All of them performed admirably. We had a rifle(wo)man today - congratulation Michele!!!

We also has several more knocking at the door with scores in the 190+ range.

I need to keep this post short as I am about to board my plane for the trip for the desert of the southwest, but I wanted to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of the shooters and instructors that made this a successful event. I have more pictures to post, but they will have to wait a bit...

Another congratulation to both Curtis and Michele! :)

I was extremely impressed with the level of discipline and effort displayed by all the shooters who came back out today (Sunday). The cold weather and brisk crosswind didn't seem to hold anyone back from performing well. I agree with AZOpie, there were several who should have no trouble achieveing Rifleman at their next Appleseed.

I'd also like to give a personal "thanks" to each and every shooter, as well as all of the instructors. This was my first Appleseed event as an Instuctor In Training, and all of you made it a memorable and pleasant experience!

AZOpie, I look forward to seeing the rest of those pics.

Pictures - as promised. If anyone else has some, please post them here...

Biloxi Steve

I'd like to thank AZopie, he did a great job as the shoot boss and all of the Orange Hats were excellent as well. We had a great event despite some cold weather on Sunday and met some more great people. I find these events are as much about meeting good people as they are about the history and the instruction. Congrats to Curtis and Michele. I hope to one day join the ranks of riflemen and quit being a cook. Hope I get the opportunity to see all of you again.  Steve

Congratulations new Rifleman Curtis and Michelle O0
Biloxi Steve -- Persisitence is the key to Rifleman --judging by your post you have the mindset of a Rifleman.

We can teach the skills required to score 210 plus on the AQT --- We cannot teach the mindset of a RIFLEMAN.
Looking forward to watching you take the IIT hat .

AZO nice pic's -- am certain Mississippi enjoyed your spirit of liberty  O0

Looking forward to more from this great state .

I had a great time this weekend.  The shooters were responsive and followed instructions without complaint.  We had no whining!  All in all it was a great group of shooters and the instructors I met were wonderful folks as well.  A++ for us!

Here's a  HUGE "Thank you" to all the instructors!!     O0
The instruction was top notch, and all the instructors were very helpful.  I appreciated the one on one tips, and help I got.

My elbows, hip, and knees sure felt it at work today!!

Anyone who can score rifleman with a 30-06 gets some serious respect from me.

I'll be out this spring with a national match front sight post in my ar15, and HOPEFULLY qualify with it.

I'm damn proud of my rifleman patch and liberty dollar.

This was a very special experience for me.

ARJJ

Biloxi Steve, I agree with Johnnyappleseed--you have a great attitude, and you have the right mindset. I'd also like to mention that Steve brought everyone coffee (made by his wife, he claimed) both days.  :) We all appreciated that, with the cold weather this weekend. Also, Michele and her husband brought pastries for everyone Sunday morning--again, much appreciated!

ARJJ

LandRaider, congrats again on making Rifleman! You've got some bragging rights among your fellow shooters now. ;D I hope that more of the 3-gun guys will attend the next Appleseed held at CRPC.

Ill certainly be preaching the value of appleseed to the folks who do not shoot their rifles well at our matches.  Some of our shooters REALLY could use it.

LandRaider, we need to get more of the Woolmarket 3-gun guys who are "Riflemen" to step up as IITs. You know who I'm talking about, so be sure and talk up Appleseed to some of your fellow shooters! :)

Congrats Landraider on making Rifleman! We have a running thread on the Mississippi page, trying to keep up with the Mississippi Riflemen/Riflewomen.  Please consider introducing yourself to the rest of us...

ARJJ, this goes for you as well.  I wasn't able to make it to the South MS Appleseeds, but want to belatedly welcome you as well.  Both of you, help us keep track of our Mississippi Riflemen!

Steve and I really enjoyed the Appleseed shoot!  Great instruction, really nice folks, and the opportunity to meet some GCRPC shooters.  My new "rifleman" patch looks great on my shooting jacket - thank you for the instruction that made it happen  :) Steve found it a little ironic that my shooting the AR well on Sunday necessitated my having to do some SEWING the following week...thanks again everyone!
