South Dakota's first Appleseed was held at the Big Sioux Rifle and Pistol Club just north of Sioux Falls.  We had fourteen attendees the first day, ten the second.  Not too bad for a short-notice event.

Alex and Iowa-Mark came up from Iowa.  Nishnabotna made his was over from Nebraska.  Two attendees shot Riflemen-  Congrats to Mark and Tony.   We had one returning Rifleman who had attended an Appleseed out in Newcastle, WY in the past.  Sam, aged 12 shot a 199.  Several other shooters were on the brink of becoming expert.

Dusty and hot conditions, unruly ricochets from the neighboring 50 yd bay, and 3AM helicopter flyover w/ a coyote chorus made the weekend complete.

Thanks to Chuck, our range contact and club president for setting up the shoot.  This appears to be the first of many Appleseeds to come  at the Big Sioux Rifle and Pistol.

What brings together men liberated from local and national limitations is also what keeps them apart. What pushes for greater rationality is also what nourishes the irrationality of hierarchical exploitation and repression.  What creates society's abstract power also creates its concrete unfreedom.

Now, Minnesota has only one border which you can't cross to find a Rifleman.
