What a nation has done, a nation can aspire to.
Dr. Jerry Pournelle

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty.

This is known as "bad luck."

I also am already scheduled to work both days, but am glad to see this on. T-Bolt and family provided us a great range last time and if I was not already committed, I'd be there this time, too.

I look forward to the AAR!

Blessings,
Bill

Argh my home range has a NRA youth shooting sports event that weekend that I am planning on helping at.  :( If they have enough help which they probably won't  :'(I will see if I can make it. I have been wanting to do another shoot in IN. besides Evansville. Just to meet some of the other IITs and ITs.

Hey Tracer Fire

I really wish I could make this shoot, but I thought it was Lafayette Louisiana #)   I never heard of Lafayette, IN.

I'll have to catch up with you somewhere else on the trail.  You know I never go north of Dallas, it's too cold up there ;D

OK, boys (and girls, if there are any) - we have exactly 10 pre-regs for this event, only 7 of whom are going to be around on Sunday.

Anyone got any ideas on how we gen up a few more shooters?

As few as we have pre-reged, if a couple of them fail to show, we'll have a one-to-one student-instructor ratio.

While that's great for the students, it's not terribly great for the program.

If you're on this board, and thinking of coming, by all means show up Sat AM - and bring your family, your relatives, your neighbors, your co-workers, your friends, your fellow club and church members - you don't have to bring everyone - but try to talk a couple at least into coming. It's a real shame to waste spots on the firing line.

It's been over a year since my last visit to IN, and I'm looking forward to instructing in a state that should be filling every space on the firing line.

So put the word out. It's not too late.

If you need to, spread the word Elton John will be there, so we have a full line! >:D

Or pretend you learn on Friday at midnight there's a serious threat to Liberty which will have to be faced at 8:30 AM Sat morn, and see how many you can get to turn out. :'( :)

     Whatever. And however.

With pre-regs at 10, we should be able, if any of you reading this have friends, to double that number by Sat.

Of course, if you don't try, we KNOW what the outcome will be - right?

So there, you have your mission - let's get some people turned out for this event. (Looks like there may be slots on the line for up to 100 people, so don't worry about overcrowding this weekend. @)

I cannot attend, but am quickly working on getting some more shooters there to say "Hi" for me!

Hooters Billy and I have talked about getting Hooters as a corporate sponsor. I remember way back when there was a certain Shotgun News article saying something about advertising an event "complete with Hooters Girls on the line and chicken wings for lunch." Well, give me a little more time, I'll see what I can do. I can confirm that there's been at least one Hooters Girl on the line - but no chicken wings for lunch just yet. There will possibly be two or three more on the line at the next Miamisburg, OH., event and I'm really trying hard to get chicken wings for lunch.

I was working on it. But, I saw you guys were dead set on getting this Elton John character to an event instead so I just kind of backed off. Hope to see you guys, and Elton, if I can make it up there this weekend.

Fred

"Elton John - and Hooter's girls"?

And we only have room for - sob! - 100 on the line?

I'd almost forgotten my earlier effort to encourage attendance - will have to ramp that one back up.

Remember, all - it's appearance in this country that counts these day - not reality!

Or as Kramer once said, "you don't sell the steak, you sell the sizzle"!

The rumors of Elton and the Hooter girls are all we need! >:( ;D

So get out there, in taxi cabs and on bar stools, and start yakking it up, about "I got it on the QT, confidentially, Elton John will be there - yeah, a surprise appearance - and he's bringing a bunch of Hooters women with him - yeah, itsa truth, I heard it, and that you can take it to the bank..."

Technically, since you first heard of the rumor(s) on this thread, you are morally OK to tell others you "heard" or "saw" the rumors...you're not vouching for the truth of the rumors, simply reporting you've seen/heard them.

Gosh, this program is nothing but f-u-n... >:D
