I've just returned to Michigan after spending ten days off-grid in the Adirondack Mountains of New York, and I'm late catching up on our After Action Report from the June 27-28 event at Chesterfield Fish & Game Club. We had a great time running this 25m rifle shoot up in the north country, and would like to extend our gratitude to Paul, Mike, and the entire team at Chesterfield for hosting Project Appleseed for the fifth consecutive year.

We had an excellent group of volunteers and shooters assembled on the range that weekend, and we made the most of it. The weather forecast was looking dicey at first, but it ended up being a gorgeous weekend with plenty of sunshine and pristine views of the surrounding peaks. The shooters were attentive and focused as we worked through the fundamental marksmanship lessons on Day 1, and shared the stories of April 19, 1775. We saw impressive skill progression that first day, culminating with our first AQT of the weekend.

Congratulations to Isaac for achieving 213 and earning his Rifleman patch - we are glad you could come back and join us this year! Congratulations also to Carmen and Katie for requalifying with impressive scores. Katie unfortunately fell short of her goal of winning the Tippmann in our 250 for 250 challenge, but still walked away with a Distinguished Rifleman patch, which is nothing to sneeze at.

Day 2 got rolling quickly, and we were able to pull in another AQT before lunch. Hats off to Morgan who scored a 213 and earned a Rifleman patch at her first event! It was amazing to watch your progression over the weekend. Kyle, you are so close buddy - 'knocking on the door' as we call it. I had a similar experience in my journey, and it's just a matter of persistence. I hope I'm there to hand out your patch.

We were able to swap in a 10/22 for Phil on Sunday which resulted in some immediate improvements - sometimes it helps to remove equipment from the equation and get a fresh take on where things stand with the marksmanship techniques. Phil is well on his way to achieving a 210.

Jack and Clay - it was great to have both of you with us, and I hope you'll continue down the road to becoming Riflemen. It would be a pleasure to have you on the line with us anytime.

Last but not least, thank you to our amazing crew of volunteers - Hawkman, LadyRimfire and CujoCop - thank you so much for your time, travel, and knowledge diffused!

I'll share a link to some event photos below, unfortunately I seem to be missing shots of Carmen and Isaac with their patches - if anyone has those on their phone, feel free to upload to the album or forward to me at NY@appleseedinfo.org.

Looking forward to seeing you all again! Promo code 1776USA250 will get you 50% off our final events in NY this season, but you gotta register before July 14th!

"There is nothing which I dread so much as a division of the republic into two great parties, each arranged under its leaders, and concerting measures in opposition to each other." ~John Adams 1780

Brave men fall with a battle cry
Tears fill the eyes of their loved ones, and their brothers in arms
And so it went for Joseph Warren
It should have been different, it could have been easy
His rank could've saved him, but a country unborn needs bravery
And it spread like wildfire
