[Maximum effort]

On Saturday morning, shortly after daylight, 16 shooters showed up at the beautiful Wears Valley Ranch for a day full of rifle marksmanship, and Revolutionary War history! It was truly a perfect day in a beautiful part of East TN.
Everyone was is high spirits, and after camp director Brian McDonnell shared the wonderful mission of Wears Valley Ranch, we were all primed to hear Special_K share the First Strike of the Match! After an excellent First Strike, we got right down to business by addressing our first redcoat target. Our first redcoat did reveal there would be some need for marksmanship instruction, and the Appleseed cadre was more than happy to oblige.

As lunch time arrived, we were lucky to have The Dude share the Second Strike, and he left us with the thought provoking question, "Are we taking good care of the children"? (This was especially moving on this day as were were at Wears Valley Ranch, where that is their sole mission...to "Take good care of the children"). I want to extend a special thank you to The Dude for sharing one of his last free days to volunteer once again with Project Appleseed before he shipped out for Navy bootcamp. I tip my hat to you, thank you for your service to our country.

Later that afternoon, Devereaux shared a nail biting Third Strike, as we saw the Redcoats desperate fight to get back to the relative safety of Boston.

With 16 shooters we had a very full line, and I want to thank and congratulate each one of them for the safety, fantastic attitudes, and close attention to instruction. Although we did not see a rifleman's score at this one day event, there were several knocking on the door, and I'm proud to hear that we have already heard many of them will be coming back for more!
