3 shooters, including two from out of state, showed up on a bright fall weekend to shoot the 200 yd RKD course.

Saturday began with IMC and an in-depth discussion of trajectory and the effect of wind.  After the safety brief, Capt. Morgan called for volunteers.  Brian B. met the challenge.  We began the process of building come-up tables and shot the first AQT of the weekend.  Dominic J. scored 42/50 on first AQT to earn his RKD patch.  We heard the story of War of Regulation & the Battle of Alamance during lunch.  The wind rose during the afternoon, providing ample opportunity to practice the art and science of reading the wind and making appropriate corrections.  The wind dropped to a negligible value about 5 min after the final Cease Fire! of the day.

Sunday began with the safety brief.  Jennifer B. answered Capt. Morgan's call.  We alternated AQT cycles (50 yd - 200 yd, then 200 yd -> 50 yd) with instructional material, including Target Detection and Range Estimation, and history through the rest of the day.  The shooters persisted through the day, with two shooters registering personal high scores late in the afternoon.

Nice!  RKDs are a great learning experience and LOTS of FUN!  Congrats to the Brian, Dominic and Jennifer!
It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
