A kindly great-grandmother bought her 8-year old grandson a Rossi and brought him to Appleseed. (I won't go into all the details of how and why.) I loaned him a 10-22 with a youth stock and scope and plopped him on a rest. He had fun and didn't hurt himself or anyone else.

Now she wants to put an aftermarket stock on the Rossi to fit the grandson. I'm not a Rossi guy and don't see much info on line except that it might take Pinkster parts.

Anyone have ideas?

There are no aftermarket stock options available for rossi 22s.

I used rossi 22s for my first appleseed. It broke under conditions such as rain and sand. Not reliable but great factory trigger and very accurate. Solid iron sights.

I like the RS22.  She will need to find a wood worker that is willing to cut down the stock.  They will have to put in a wood insert to mate up the butt with the narrower section of the stock from removing the section to shorten the length of pull.  I suggest using foam or wood to build up the pistol grip like the Daisy 853.  I have done this to a plastic 10/22 stock to fit a very small for his age youth.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery
