It could have been hotter, but not by much. Nine hearty souls braved the heat at the tail end of summer to hear about their heritage and further their marksmanship skill.  Everyone visibly improved and I am pleased to announce that two earned their Rifleman patch and one took an orange hat as an IIT.

My son and I had a fantastic time, even if I did get incredibly frustrated with myself.

In hindsight, it was REALLY dumb coming out there with a newly built rifle and a sight I'd mounted 2 days prior and never so much as boresighted.

I am going to boresight and zero the rifle on a mechanical rest til I can get as tight a group as possible - at that point, it's all on me.

I'm happy to have gotten the Shingle on the Hits Count sheet, but I'll be happier when I can do it more than once.

Wil and I will definitely be at the Known Distance shoot in November.

This is such a nice range.  Karl even gave me a tour.  That RKD in November is going to be awesome!  Welcome to the Appleseed volunteer family, Karl.  Thanks for stepping up.  Welcome to the Appleseed shooter family to the others.  It was great to see so many actual families shooting together. 

Congrats on scoring Rifleman, Jenny and Robert!  The improvement in everyone was fantastic.  I hope to see you all back soon.

Palmetto Gun Club has hosted 4 Appleseed events now and we are looking forward to a long and very beneficial relationship with Appleseed. This is definitely one of the most worthwhile projects I have ever had the pleasure of being associated with. I am looking forward to participating in the 200 RKD event on November 1st and many more events in the future.

Thank you all, Appleseed volunteers and participants. Without all of you, we have no future. We must keep our history and our Rifleman tradition alive.
