I'd like to thank all of the shooters who joined us at Square Deal Sportsmen in Glen Aubrey NY for a weekend of marksmanship and history. It was great having all of you with us, and congratulations to New York's newest Rifleman, Chris!  Way to get it done buddy!

Also, great job to all of our shooters who were borrowing rifles for this event. It's not easy to get comfortable with a rifle you're not familiar with, but we're glad all of you had the opportunity to get some experience with the Ruger 10/22 semi-auto platform. That's an excellent choice for anyone considering purchasing a semi-auto rifle in New York, as many of the base models are fully compliant and there are lots of aftermarket parts to customize the rifle to your personal shooting preferences.

Special thanks to Scott @ Square Deal for breaking out his historical replicas and providing everyone with the historical connection for what American patriots were working with in the field during those fateful years our country was struggling to win independence.

I'd also like to thank David @ Square Deal for all of his support getting this event coordinated. It was great to bring Project Appleseed to a new host range, and a region of New York we had not previously visited. I can say with some certainty that we will be back there next season, and we're looking forward to a future opportunity to stretch our legs on their newly constructed 700yd range.

Many thanks to all of the Appleseed volunteers who traveled in to make this event a success: ThatIndianGuy,LadyRimfire, Linus55, OmegaBurn, Dude and mmirate (all the way from New Hampshire!) - thanks for your commitment to keeping our traditions and history alive in New York!

Hope to see all of you back out on the lines with us in 2026!

Yankee Peas

It was a pleasure meeting Travis and the NY cadre in Glen Aubrey and getting to shoot at such a nice facility. Great job Chris for making Rifleman! I hope to see you all sometime in the future... and to have some more Spiedie sandwiches.  ;D

"Yankee Peas" (British army term) - Buckshot. American troops, particularly militia, sometimes loaded their muskets with a few buckshot as well as a standard musket ball to inflict more casualties at close range.
