Last weekend we had another fine event at WCW Shooting Sports, hosting 6 of Washington's most persistent shooters in a 1-day event.  We regaled them with tales of the history of the earliest days of this country, and along the way they picked up a few tips and tricks to improve their rifle marksmanship.

As always, we started our event by engaging the Hits Count target - and only half of our shooters were able to score 3 intentional hits on the largest (100y) silhouette.  That's fairly common among new shooters, and this group was very eager to apply the lessons we had to share.  Even through several strong downpours, shooters were engaging targets downrange and putting up 4-8 MOA groups very quickly.

We had time for 2 attempts at the AQT at this event, and while none of our shooters scored a Rifleman score, they all showed vast improvement over the first target of the day.  Ben was our highest score at a 201, and I suspect he will be back in March (after some dry fire at home) to show us he knows very well what he is about.  Phillip was close behind with a score of 198 - an impressive score for a first time Appleseeder.

All of our shooters showed great improvement, and at the end of the day we had 2 shooters hit the shingle and half of our shooters clearing the 200yd silhouette!

All of our shooters were highly engaged with the history, and one of my favorite parts of small events like this is we have some extra time for back-and-forth discussions about the fates of some of the brave men and women who were involved in the events of April 19, 1775.

Thanks to Doc Sporseen and Iborche for running another fine event and bringing our history to life!  And thanks to WCW Shooting Sports for hosting us - the generosity of this premier local range is greatly appreciated.

Just 2 pictures from this event that really highlight the wet conditions we get to deal with in WA.

Despite being a covered shooting line, these shooting platforms get slick!

Not only that, our targets became nearly transparent after a significant downpour:

Hope everyone is staying dry!
