February in southern Indiana can be a crapshoot when it comes to weather.  This first week-end of February was quite pleasant.  It was a little cooler than anticipated on Saturday but Sunday was beautiful and almost spring-like.  This SB got sunburnt. 

4 shooters showed up to learn more about our history and sharpen their skills.  Two were new shooters to Appleseed.  Personalities meshed quickly and it was like we had known each other for much longer instead of just meeting that day.  The shooters were attentive and asked great questions.  We had some equipment issues to overcome (misplaced springs and loose front sights) but all could complete shooting both days. 

We added to our cadre, we welcomed Faith from Chicago, Mogwai on the forum, as a new blue hat.  ChuckA pay attention here!  Windrunner, another Illinois instructor,  added RSO to his blue hat accomplishments.  Last but not least, Myrradah completed his final Red Hat check and his 10th event.  It made this SB's day to give out the new hats and promotions.  Old Dominion Iron qualified and cleared the last redcoat on Sunday.  Huzzah.  We didn't welcome any new riflemen but lots of progress was made in the right direction.  Keep practicing and we will see you on the range!

Speaking of ranges, Red Brush Rifle Range did not disappoint.  It is a fantastic facility and the members are always welcoming.  Thank you Red Brush for letting us have an event and supporting our mission.

It was great seeing familiar faces and making new friends.  By the end of the day on Saturday we were laughing and making jokes as we prepped for more shooting activities.  The laughter and friendship just got better on Sunday.  Thanks for spending the week-end with Jayshoneybunny, Geek, Myrradah & Windrunner.
