We had a great event at a new range near Fowler Indiana.  A great host.  I want to thank Scott and Lee for allowing us to use the facility.  We had a line of all first-time attendees.  Scott did a welcome to everyone and talked about the trainings they offer at the range.  It was a great talk and well received.  After introductions and our First Strike, we had our safety brief and started with our Hits count target.  Ed cleared it.  Huzzah!  What a way to start the weekend.  We opened the spigot and let the knowledge flow.  At lunch, the group heard our Second Strike.  We covered additional steady hold factors and stages of the AQT then closed our day with another Hits Count Target.  The rain wore on people, but spirits stay high until the end of the day.  We closed out with our Third Strike and talked about the difference individuals had on the outcome of the day.

The crew returned on Sunday for a review and pro-tips.  After our safety brief, we shot or Hits count target to see where we are.  Things looked good.  Ed cleared it again.  We worked through some drills to help build muscle memory for transition to sitting and prone, mag changes, and transitioning between targets.  We then took on AQTs.  The the day progressed, scores went up.  A crew of first-time appleseeders did well.  Ed finished the day at 204 as our high score.   I want the congratulate Max, Jenn, Terry, JT, Declan, Isaac, Dan, and Ed for the great work they put into the weekend.  What we do is not natural or easy.  A rifleman persists.  Use the Rifleman's Guidebook you got and review the steady hold factors.  Read more about NPOA and the six steps to firing the shot.  Dry-fire is the cheapest way to build these skills.  I look forward to seeing each of you at a future event.

One additional note, Dan Sr. came up from FL to be with his son and and grandsons for this event.  He previously shot in FL and wanted them to get a chance to experience what he did.  He is interested in volunteering in FL.  Thank you Dan!

Great Event, with a great range, and congratulations on the promotions. It was great to see three generations of shooters from two different families on the line.
