A total of 8 hearty souls began their journey to becoming a Rifleman and one was successful.

On Saturday we heard the Three Strikes of the Match and now all students know where and when the Revolutionary War began and was won.

They also learned sling usage, steady hold factors, six steps of firing the shot and Natural Point of Aim. On Saturday they had the opportunity to apply these on an AQT but no Rifleman were made.

On Sunday there was marked improvement noted on the morning Hits Count target. After a few Dangerous Old Men stories we rolled right into a review of the previous day's subjects, shot a few sighters and were able to complete an AQT before lunch and then get students involved in coaching with Ball and Dummy drill.

At lunch South Carolina Revolutionary War history was told and they learned about Bloody Tarleton and the Battle of King's Mountain from an Instructor who is a descendant from a Patriot who fought at King's Mountain.

After lunch we are able to complete 2 AQTS and on the very last Michael shot 216/250 and joined the ranks of Riflemen.

Honorable mention is Karl the PGC club President who shot 2 consecutive 206 scores.

We are already planning next year's schedule with Palmetto Gun Club.

Stage 4. A Rifleman persists and ADAPTS


ONE ON ONE INSTRUCTION. Down in the dirt.

The Palmetto Gun Club is a special place. The covered 50 yard range was perfect for instruction and the forward grass covered 25 meter firing line was ideal for Appleseed. Each of the attendees were club members supporting (only the second event) at this range. Each participant really listened and put the instruction to work for significant improvement throughout the weekend. They were Very engaged in history and marksmanship!
More events are planned for next year. Having Karl the club president open the gates for you at O-Dark-30 to let us set up, spend both days in support of the program and grab his rifle Sunday and shoot with us is pretty darned cool.
Having instructor this capable, who treat you like family, is what an Appleseed is all about. I'm sure the call for attendees to accept orange hats will happen as participants earn future rifleman patches.

This was the second Appleseed 25 meter event we have hosted at Palmetto Gun Club. We plan to host many more Appleseed events.
I have received a tremendous amount of positive feedback by our members and requests for more events.
I have participated and enjoyed the events myself. The format is amazing. It is well thought out and effective. The Appleseed volunteers make it outstanding. Everyone i have spoken with has come away with a renewed appreciation for our nation's founders and the events of April 19th 1775.
The blend of rifleman skills, history, patriotism and camaraderie sets this program apart from all the other firearm training events I have attended over my 60 years of firearms use.
Simply put, THIS IS A MUST ATTEND if you are an American of any age or skill level.

I participated in my first Appleseed course this past weekend at the Palmetto Gun Club. The instructors were very helpful. The history lectures were inspirational. I see definite improvement in my marksmanship. I highly recommend Appleseed !

I wish to express my sincere thanks for the devotion of the instructors. Their knowledge is exceptional. My shooting was less than stellar, having only fired 100 or so rounds with the rifle prior to this event. I had issues with my sling which the instructors helped me overcome. My marksmanship has greatly improved from the experience of this clinic. I hope to continue to improve my skills based on what I learned an will attend another clinic in the future. Bravo Zulu to the instructors.

Completed my first Appleseed clinic on Nov 3 at Palmetto Gun Club.  The instruction and lectures were engaging and informative. The results exceeded my expectations by far.  My groupings tightened considerably by the end of day one.  While I did not earn the rifleman badge, with the instruction that I received, I am confident that it is within reach. I've applied what I learned ARA 22 and am seeing great results. I highly recommend the Appleseed 25m Rifle Marksmanship Clinic to anyone wanting to improve their shooting skills.  Looking forward to the next Appleseed Clinic at PGC.
