Oh Yeah, we had one BAPTISM.
Our second IIT nailed a 210 with his SWEET VQ 10/22!
We settled for ice cold Vermont spring water from my well.

We had a visitor (with family in tow) come up from the shore.
He reads Fred's SGN column regularly.
He asked if we had any targets, literature, or Fred's Guides for sale.
I told him we did not have any of those things for sale.
I presented him with a package of targets, handouts, and a spare Guide I had kicking around for just such an occasion.
He was elated.
We'll see him at an event soon.

Much thanks to the PEMI range for having us.
They were very gracious hosts.
Thanks to our NRA RSOs for donating their time.
Thanks to our staff of Instructors, IITs, and Admin.
Another one on the books.

I've gotta say, that was a really fun shoot.  It was my first Appleseed.  I learned a ton (It really changed the way I shoot)  and a had a ball.  Ripersnifle, Fireball99...I don't know who the other guys were but it was a great team.  I'm looking forward to supporting you guys.  I'm working with another guy that was at the shoot to arrange an AS at our club in Chester.  Our Pres. is reluctant but curious.  I think that he'll come around.  Do you folks have any lit or marketing materials that I could send to him?  Perhaps something that I could send by e-mail?

Chester, as in Chester, VT?

I can talk to him, if you would like. I'm in Bristol, about 2 hours away.
They have men amongst them who know very well what they are about, having been employed as Rangers against the Indians and Canadians and this country being much covered with wood, and hilly, is very advantageous for their method of fighting. . . . ".  Lord Percy

Sounds like New Englanders to me.

Thanks Nickle, but I'm talking about Chester, NH.  It's East of Derry and 20 minutes S.E. of Manchester.  We've had a Rocky relationship with some of our residential neighbors so the Pres doesn't want to do anything that would give them cause to start in on us.  I had to explain to him that Applseed isn't "...somekind of Militia or anti-gov't thing," and I think he gets it now.

It's the Chester Rod and Gun Club.  It has a single 150 yard Rifle range and a 50 yard outdoor pistol range.  He won't let us use rifle range once we near hunting season because he wants it available for guys that want to sight-in, but the pistol range would be good for us.  I forget how wide the line is on the pistol range.  I don't use it much so I'd have to go look at it again before I could say how many people it could handle.

go measure 25 meters away from the berm.  3.5 feet per person.

Try that one

Thanks Sam. That was a great article and I sent it on.

Btw, just a quick question...are you the Sam D that did the spot on the Alex Jones Show?  Because, if you are, I just want to say thank you.  That spot was how I first heard about Appleseed and the way you told the story of the three strikes had me captivated.  I was in my office at the time...I didn't do a stitch of work for an hour.  Listening to you had me absolutely hooked.  I felt like a little kid listening to a great story.  After that, I just wanted to be part of what you were talking about...now I am.  O0

A follow-up on my efforts to get a shoot at Chester Rod & Gun.  It sounds as though they're now planning "No Blue Sky" construction.  I'm waiting to hear back on the details re: timing, etc...but (and I've never heard of "no blue sky" before) it sounds as though lanes will be constructed on the line that are long enough to serve as blinders such that all the shooter can see is the back berm.

If so, is this something that I should continue to pursue?  Can an Appleseed work with this kind of setup?

crak

We've worked in whatever setup we can get.

But honestly, if there's a place as huge and wide open as Pelham only 13 miles away, why start bending over for such a wacky setup?

If you think that we can work through the no blue sky set up I'll keep going.  Forward march...  As far as the nearness of the locations I've gotta figure that if there are enough people to support two clubs, there are enough people to support two Appleseeds.

Btw, I saw the Appleseed link and blurb on the Pemmi website.  Was that you Firewall?  Nicely done!

A few Appleseeds under nonsensical conditions might change your mind, and you're obviously free to find out for yourself.   >:D

O.k.  Point made...and I have no interest in providing you with an opportunity to say "I told you so."  :P

I'm going to find out what this thing is going to look like; I need a drawing or something.  The other possible option is the pistol range there.  I'll get back to you.

Thanks for the help

Mark D

A final note to close on the issue just so no one can ever accuse me of not seeing things through to the end.

We got the site and the range worked out...no crazy issues to deal with.  The club signed the host app at their monthly meeting last night.  After the club meeting I had several people come to me and say that they are going to attend.  We're using their brand new pistol range.  It's nice and clean with a 70 foot line and a 20 foot berm.

We're going to have a great shoot at the Chester Rod & Gun Club on Sept 26th and 27th...a beautiful time of year to shoot in NH.
