Appleseed

Welcome to Buckman Tavern, Project Appleseed's open discussion board.

We're glad you're here and hope you have fun!  Please respect fellow instructors and guests by adhering to our simple house rules.

1.  Participate with courtesy, politeness, and respect.  If you want rough and tumble, there are other sites for it.
2.  Second Amendment advocacy is welcome.  Beyond that, political discussion should be confined to the Revolutionary War era.  More details can be found at https://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=33583.0
3.  No trolling.  Trolling is defined as posting to elicit a negative response.
4.  Project Appleseed is a family-friendly community.  The following content is not allowed:
  • derogatory content of a racial, religious, or sexual nature,
  • links or information about illegal modifications to firearms,
  • posting content which reflects poorly upon Project Appleseed or our website.
5.  Respect copyrighted material by including a link to the original source.
6.  Personal classified ads should be confined to the Steals & Deals board.

Special Considerations for Appleseed volunteers:
1.  All Appleseed Instructor Guidelines apply here.
2.  If you can't or wouldn't say it on a firing line in front of students, don't post it here.
3.  Please use instructor-only boards to discuss instructor business.

The Old Guide

Everybody should walk the Freedom trail beginning in Lexington. Buckman Tavern is still there and they sell Buckman Tavern root beer. I buy some when I'm in Lexington and give a real Buckman Tavern root beer to the highest scoring AQT by a new shooter at my Appleseed shoots.

Once a year in the fall (before deer season in Maine) I gather a convoy of cars to Lexington. Yes folks, it is more than just a story.

Our history is not a list of dates and places. It is a dynamic adventure of freedom and individual courage.

Crak's IBC, August 2010.
Fred's AIBC, April 2011
kDan's IBC, March 2012
Northeast SC Confab, Feb. 13

@the old guide: yup yup Buckmans Tavern is indeed still a place, pretty neat actually, you should send some of those Buckmans root beers down to Lubbock Texas for AQT rewards lol.

That's a great idea. I'll have to steal that!

The Second Amendment is a doomsday provision, one designed for those exceptionally rare circumstances where all other rights have failed -- where the government refuses to stand for reelection and silences those who protest; where courts have lost the courage to oppose, or can find no one to enforce their decrees. However improbable these contingencies may seem today, facing them unprepared is a mistake a free people get to make only once.
