4 Shooters, the range/spa host aka awesome instructor, and I took a day off this Friday to have fun at a one day 25m rifle event.  The weather gods were kind and allowed the range a chance to dry up a little bit.    WileyCoyote did a great job preparing the range for us.  He really outdid himself with the gravel and landscape fabric blocking almost all of our anticipated mud spa experience. Not only that, he and his wife were nice enough to let us stay at their place all weekend. THANK YOU BOTH!!! :1luvu

BlueBird and Navy Doc traveled down from Kentucky; Devereux joined us from Kingsport; and Mossburg joined us from GA after her class let out.  This was not a typical 1-day event.  All the shooters were intent on joining the TN IBC this weekend as IITs.  They nailed it!  BlueBird and Mossburg just wanted more shooting fun and to hone their skills.  Navy Doc and Devereux wanted to conquer the Rifleman score.  100% success!  WileyCoyote did a terrific job instructing each of the shooting positions and sharing a DOM story.  I covered a few more instructions and went over the 3 Strikes with all their help.  It was a very long and hopefully fun day for all.  We started at 8 and ended a bit after 6.  Somehow we got 4 regular AQTs in and one hasty AQT along with a few drills.  It was a great way to start a long weekend making new friends.

Getting ready to shoot the Hits Count target in the morning.

WileyCoyote gave some great coaching advice all day.

We needed to give the safety brief to Mossburg after she arrived.  What better way than have a shooter do it?  Thanks Navy Doc.

Wow.

Stand Easy is so old school.  Sleep Easy works too.

End of the day results - 2 cleared Hits Count targets and 2 others great at 300.  3 out of 4 hit the shingle (1 narrow miss)

BlueBird and Navy Doc cleared their Redcoats targets - Someone seems pretty happy about it.  This shoot was fun!

Navy Doc scored 211 and 215 to earn his Rifleman patch - Congratulations!

Devereux scored a 210 - woohoo!  He was a good sport considering he was headed to his campsite soon after. Fun fact for KD shooters, Devereux is the great-great...nephew of Devereux Gilliam, who fought in the Battle of Kings Mountain.  He chose his forum name in his uncle's honor.

Mossburg requalified with ease.  Nice job!

Devereux and Navy Doc have both stepped up and asked to become instructors!  Huzzah!  Thank you

This was a long day.  BlueBird just shows what the rest of us feel.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.

Thanks to upacreek for her never ending encouragement and great smile, and for her professional level photography. This was a wonderful, yet exhausting day. Thanks to WileyCoyote for his and his bride's hospitality!
