What an AWESOME weekend we had! The highlight of which (at least in this area of the country) was the full annular eclipse with not a cloud in the sky! It happened right at lunchtime, and we/shooters had plenty of ISO certified eyewear to pass around to catch a glimpse of what could be a once-in-a-lifetime event! But wait, there's more! We're having a TOTAL ECLIPSE April 8, 2024 here! Gotta see if we can schedule another event that weekend! Get on it, A-lister! ~~:) ;D

Besides the eclipse, we had a beautiful, windy weekend with temperatures that were finally tolerable. 14 total shooters came out, and groups were pretty tight from the get-go. We managed 5 AQTs with one new 210 score Rifleman. Congratulations, Jason! He was duly baptized in waters of the north bridge as well ;). We had four others re-qualify, so it was definitely a successful shoot!

Everyone seemed to enjoy the history we taught, and Ghostring and Alex rushin' introduced a rifle ergonomics block that really went over well. Lots of questions in that block from the shooters O0. Well done, gentlemen!

During the eclipse we had a little extra fun and shot at a steel sun. Lots of hits on that target!

Most improved had to go to Corbin! Pretty rough first day, but he turned into a pro by the second day! Keep up the shooting, and you'll get to be a Rifleman just like your dad, Corbin!

We also need to thank Vortex for providing really nice stocks to be used as demonstration/laser rifles. They are fantastic! And another thanks goes out to Waco Tactical Fitness for providing the free ammunition for our youth shooter, Corbin!

Anyway, thanks all for making this event special, and ADD pictures that I may have forgotten! Again, the thread is worthless without pics!

Just want to say thank you to all the instructors who conducted a very good clinic. Tim, Ron, Chad, Mark, Jerry and Alex all did a tremendous job of keeping shooters on track, presenting the strikes, and teaching the fundamentals of marksmanship.  And, what a show we had with the solar eclipse! Thank you for having the forethought to provide the special glasses so we could see the eclipse as it was happening.  that was a real treat.

The wind was a challenge during the AQT grind.  Really makes a shooter concentrate on SOLID POSITION and correct SLING USE!!!

Can't wait for the next time we get together.  I'll be working in Alaska November and December, maybe into January. But, early next year I'll be signing up to work a clinic with you.

Thanks again for such a great weekend!
