There is an old joke, about two statisticians, each missing by a similar amount in opposite directions, then declaring that, on average, they hit.  That was our weather for the weekend.  Saturday showed up hot, with 90+ degree temps and nothing but pop-ups to provide a respite from the unrelenting sun.  Rifles covered between strings so that people wouldn't get burned, and frequent reminders to drink extra water kept us un the field but it was a hot, dry day, and the shooters working hard did nothing to make that easier.  Sunday opened, in exactly the opposite form, with torrential rain and a tornado warning.  Nevertheless, by nine AM we were prepared as could be, and our shooters gamely braved the water just as they had previously faced the sun.

One stubborn soul managed his rifleman patch early Sunday, and several more came within striking distance despite the challenging conditions.  Across the line, at every turn, I saw folks learning and improving, and was very impressed.  I hope to see all of these folks back again, maybe even under nicer weather.  A big thank you to the ITs and IITs too, their help was invaluable and the heat, rain, and threats of tornados make them work harder too.
