I and putting together my rifle (Ruger 10/22 with Tapco T6) for the upcoming Appleseed in April. I am not sure how to install sling swivels on the Tapco T6 stock. The stock came with a rear sling swivel but it is just under 1.25 inches. This seems too narrow to me.

What do I do about the front?

Uncle Mike's makes sling studs with a nut for the inside and others that are made to screw into wood. Midway has them. You can drill the fore end and install the ones with the nut. On my SKS with Tapco, I drilled and threaded a stud I already had for a wood stock and then stuck a ball of  paste type epoxy on the inside of the stock to help strengthen it. So far it's held up.

BV,

I used M-14 swivels from Numrich Gun Parts on mine. The Tapco rear swivel is plastic, and thicker than steel ones, which makes standard sling clips hard to use. I left the forward lower rail cover in place, and thru-drilled twice, then machine-screwed the front swivel in place. The rear M-14 swivel mounting portion is a little thicker than Tapco's, so you have to file out the slot in the stock, or grind down the swivel mount a bit. Sounds like a lot of work, but it's not, and you get a very strong, working copy of the real military setup.

PM me if you want the part numbers.
