We had eight patriots show up on a wet Saturday morning, all eager to learn the story of our beginning and how marksmanship secured Americas Independence. We started the day with an awesome first strike from Justkim followed by the safety rules and how to make a rifle safe. With the rifles on the line and the red coats posted we got started. It was soon revealed we had some work to do. The morning continued with a steady flow of information and the first square showed that all in attendance had soaked in the instruction. I realized after 5 rounds we had a group that was there to learn. Patriot1775 did a great job keeping the history rolling at lunch with the second strike of the match. We continued with instruction and fine tuning equipment and the last target of the day showed a marked improvement in marksmanship skill. The instructors did an excellent job and were rewarded with some impressive red coat results. Mrs Waky gave an outstanding rendition of strike three ending day one.
Day two was a beautiful day and most returned for more history and more instruction. We started the day with much better red coats. After zero verification and some refresher demonstrations, we got right to the AQT's. At day's end we had two new riflemen and one retired but reinvigorated orange hat shooting score. Cory turned in a high score of 222, Charles an adaptive shooter had a 227 and Louis proved he still had it with a 224. I want to thank all that joined us, we would love to have you back and remember to bring a friend.
Many thanks to the instructors. You did an awesome job like you always do.
Thanks to Escambia River Gun Club for your continued support.

We had a great event!

Drake had a blast shooting pistachios -- he made lot's of progress throughout the day.  He was awarded a young patriot's patch

Dad Cory, shot right along side Drake and scored a rifleman score of 222!

Congratulations to Louis for a repeat rifleman score --  Louis was an inactive orange hat and accepted a fresh new orange hat -- we look forward to working with him at future events.

Charles - adaptive shooter

Anika returned and showed her big brothers Shawn and Noah how to get things done!  They both also made lots of progress throughout the weekend.

The whole group:

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan
