It was a fun weekend at the home of our gracious hosts, the Midland Shooters Association Range. Three intrepid ladies gathered together to learn about the Three Strikes of the Match, and the fundamentals of Rifle Marksmanship. As the saying goes, though they may be small, they are fierce!

As we progressed though the course of instruction, the ladies paid attention and took the coaching of the instructors to heart.  Little Elizabeth out-shot the grownups nearly the whole weekend!

Saturday was lovely and bright. It was hard to believe the next day would bring some wet and chilly weather.

As promised, Sunday dawned cloudy, chilly, and drizzly. At some points it was outright RAINING. But that didn't dampen the spirits of our girls!

By weekend's end, two of the ladies, Vicky and Amanda, had hit Morgan's Shingle on their Redcoat targets, and on the LAST redcoat of the weekend, Amanda CLEARED IT!  I'm pretty sure her feet weren't touching the ground as she made her way back up to the firing line with that target in hand!

Vicky, with her struck Shingle, and a Battle of Saratoga quarter for her efforts.

Elizabeth, with her momma Vicky and her Road to Rifleman certificate and young Patriot patch.  Despite her size, she shot all of the stages in the appropriate positions, including the transitions.  This kid is a force to be reckoned with!

The ladies tackled a total of 5 AQTs on Sunday.  The level of improvement was as beautiful as their smiles.

Elizabeth was our most consistent shooter  :1luvu showing a 42 point improvement in her scores, due in large part to the fact that she started out higher than the adults in  the first place.

Vicky showed a 44 point improvement, and she's WELL on her way to a rifleman's score!

Amanda knocked it out of the park with 60 points of improvement, and was REALLY getting her groove by the last AQT of the day.

I expect great things from all three of them!

Thank you, ladies, for your attention, your efforts, your energy, your smiles, and your precious time.  It is our honor to have spent that time with you.  We hope to see you again soon on the Appleseed Trail.

Mrs. Smith
