Another great weekend at AAFG in the books!  11 students made the pilgrimage out to be on the line for this two day rifle event, including a contingent of boy scout troops who knew well what they were about.

Saturday morning's red coat target was cleared by one student, and the day progressed with some great progress by all the students.  The class stayed attentive and soaked up all points of instruction that were presented by BeSwift and gumbied by ProgressNotPerfection.  All were attentive and asked plenty of questions with Lycos' great telling of the 1st Strike.   The end of the day Saturday wrapped up with a rousing 2nd Strike by BeSwift, an AQT that saw our own Phoebe's FIRST Rifleman qualification of 225, and another student cleared a red coat target!

Sunday started off with a bang with 4 students clearing the red coat target!  We moved into the AQT grind, which provided 5 new rifleman to the list.  Jessee J, a first time Appleseeder, scored a 219, 220, 221, 229, and a 235 which also earned him the high score for the weekend.  Kyle D, also a first time Appleseeder, qualified with a 212 and had many targets that were knocking on requalifying.  Joe J. pulled off two 220's, along with a 213 and many other targets that were oh so close.  Kevin N showed great determination and focus that rewarded him with a 215.  Last but not least, our own Phoebe rocked out a requalifying score of 227...which just so happens to have tied Lycos' high score.  ;D

Sunday's AQT grind was broken up by Lycos delivering a thrilling 3rd strike, and ProgressNotPerfection debuted an incredibly moving Dangerous Old Men and Brave Women presentation.

Many other students got so very close!  Doug B saw high scores in the 180s and 190s, and showed a tremendous amount of progression throughout the weekend.  Mark E was in the 180s, 190s, or just shy of 210 on every AQT, however Mark showed great perseverance and took his revenge on a red coat target, clearing it with no problem!  Michael Sr made great strides throughout the weekend, to include swapping from irons to a scoped rifle, and running a bolt gun!  Michael Jr, John, and Miko also showed significant improvements under the guidance of BeSwift and Lycos.  Lastly, John M also came close to qualifying with a 208 (SO CLOSE...you'll absolutely get it next time).
I highly encourage you all to practice what you learned with both live and dry fire. Working under the pressure of the clock is something that some practice can also overcome.

Lastly, thanks to the instructors on the line for this event, and the host Club, Anne Arundel Fish & Game, for a great weekend on the line.  I also want to give a shout out to the AAFG volunteers that cooked the phenomenal grub that was had during their Bull Roast on Sunday!
