What a wonderful event. It was sold out, with 20 shooters, in a week's time in early April and included seven youths. All twenty shooters showed up Saturday and the preliminaries, and some history, began in the clubhouse before proceeding to the range for instruction and shooting. And we had a superb group of instructors.

The weather was pleasant but rain was anticipated about 3 p.m. and it arrived on time. Fortunately we had prepared for it and assembled back in the clubhouse for more history and a KD presentation.

Sunday was a beautiful day which everyone enjoyed. Two shooters earned the Rifleman's Score: Don, with 247 and Clay, with 217. We received many compliments afterwards.
Two shooters did not return Sunday. An email was received from one of these who had a reasonable excuse, and is copied below. Another email from one who did return is also printed below.

Don, I very much enjoyed Appleseed but unfortunately could not make the Sunday session. Saturday night that huge thunderstorm that came in knocked out our power and a following lightning strike burned up our generator. This left us with no power but worst, the septic pump burned out too and we had septic material backed up into our lower level of the house. I just couldn't leave my wife with that mess for the Sunday session. I will, however, sign up for it again and I was so impressed with the organization, I plan on making a donation.
Anyway, thanks so much for letting me join.

I know what to practice now. Hard to move from a bolt gun to a semi auto, learn to reload, trigger control and other new stuff. It was interesting that my 1st 5 square was pretty good for groups and then everything seemed like it went downhill. Please let me know the next event in Paris. Like I said, I will practice and see if I can get my neck flexible enough to shoot prone and learn some trigger control. Thanks
Rightful liberty is unobstructed action according to our will within limits drawn around us by the equal rights of others. I do not add "within the limits of the law" because law is often but the tyrant's will, and always so when it violates the rights of the individual.  Thomas Jefferson
