This was a fantastic weekend with 11 eager patriots on the line. With thunder storms forecast for both days we were blessed with only brief showers. With new shooters and new equipment on the line we started off slow making only meager progress on day one. After some equipment adjustments and some loaners we were back on track for day two. Sunday started with refreshers on slings, positions, steady hold factors and the six steps of firing a shot. We made great progress in the AM and by lunch we were where we needed to be. Even though this was a low round count event we did achieve our goal. We revealed two new rifleman and a few more knocking on the door. Jonathan struggled day one with his rifle but scored on five consecutive AQT's with a loaner and earned his rifleman's patch shooting a high score of 223. Christopher put a scope on his rifle Saturday night and shot score on six consecutive AQT's with the high score of the weekend a 232. Kahlin was so close shooting 201, 204 and 207. Doyle shot a 177, Grey, a six year old shot a 182, Robert a 172, Stephen a 195 and Joshua a 150.
The instructors did an awesome job with the shooters and the results say it all. Patriot 1775 did a great job with the stories with Mrs. Waky introducing some dangerous old men on Sunday. JustKim did a fantastic job with the demo's and KonaBoy Stan the Man and Waky with the shooters. What a fantastic crew!
Overall a wonderful weekend and I can't wait to do it again.

This was a great event!    Patriot 1775 did a great job telling the strikes while the shooters listened intently and even asked questions.  I always like it when we have a nice history discussion amongst shooters and instructors.  All of the shooters made lots of progress.  Congratulations to Brandon (Christopher) and Jonathan for earning their Rifleman patches -- six- year old Grey did an amazing job of being very safe all weekend and greatly increasing his scores!  Kahlin the young lady on the line was oh so close to earning her patch -- she will for sure get it next time!  Doyle, Robert, Stephen, Joshua and Jason made significant progress and I hope to see them all back soon!  Unfortunately, Gavin and Tommy, our two football players, didn't return on day two to hone their skills, so hopefully they will make it back to our next event.

We had an amazing instructor team show up -- I have to brag that we all worked very well together.  Gunjunkie did a great job as shoot boss.

A special thanks to the Escambia River Gun Club for being so supportive and welcoming!

This was a great shoot and I can't wait for the next one!

It's not about perfection -- it's about progress!!

I LOVE this stuff!

"Perhaps you and I have lived with this miracle too long to be properly appreciative. Freedom is a fragile thing and is never more than one generation away from extinction. It is not ours by inheritance; it must be fought for and defended constantly by each generation, for it comes only once to a people. Those who have known freedom and then lost it have never known it again" Ronald Reagan

Although I could only make it to the shoot on Sunday, I was excited to be there. So many of the shooters were doing exceptionally well. I was a little nervous about telling some stories but had fun doing it and I will keep working on them as I get closer to earning my red hat.

It was a slow start on Saturday, but everyone greatly improved themselves on Sunday. Grey had enough energy for all of us this weekend. Congratulations to all who received their rifleman patches.
