Thanks to Beaver Valley Rifle & Pistol Club for hosting our search for the elusive Western Pennsylvania Pistoleerâ„¢.  We searched for two beautiful late-summer days and expended hundreds of rounds of ammunition, but in the end we only found one.  Shawn, with a 211 on his first PQT, backing it up with a 215, had the high scores of the weekend.  A couple of other students shot in the high 190s and the low 200s but couldn't quite put it all together.

The student's results on the Pistol Redcoat targets improved through the weekend, with four of the five shooters on the final Redcoat displaying an effective range of at least 44 yards and two hitting Pitcairn's Button.  In spite of a few close calls, nobody was able to make all thirteen shots count.  The Pistol Redcoat is truly a formidable challenge!

Finally, thanks to devilkitty and Lil Dragon  for driving down from Michigan to help handle the instructing chores, and to Charles McKinley for taking time out from his "dad" chores to give us another set of eyes and hands on the line.

It was a great shoot.  It was wonderful to meet other Appleseeders and students.
Last evening, it occurred to me that when a defender of Liberty is called home, their load lands upon the shoulders of the defenders left behind. Just as the Founders did their duty for Liberty, every subsequent generation must continue their work lest Liberty perish. As there is no way for the remaining adults to take on the work of those that die, we must pass the ideals and duties on to the children. -PHenery

A co worker was at the club and observed the shoot. He was impressed with everything. He is a newish person to the shooting world and he was taking a orientation class because he joined the club. Hopefully this will be the hurdle to get him to attend an event someday soon.

We quite enjoyed our time in Pennsylvania (and Lil Dragon got to experience the Fort Pitt tunnel :) ).

It was great to meet and work with everyone; for those who didn't quite shoot score - and those a little further away - a Rifleman persists, and so does a Pistoleerâ„¢!
Dry fire is your friend, but remember to use a snap cap in that Buck Mark, Kevin. Ask me how I know...

Thanks for having us; we'll be back.
